I had the pleasure of working with Florian in the lab, where he was my supervisor when I joined as an undergraduate student. From the beginning, he took the time to explain the project and experimental procedures clearly and made sure I understood what I was doing. He also helped me learn a wide range of experimental techniques, including some that I initially found quite challenging. What I appreciated most about Florian was his patience and encouragement. He created a relaxed and enjoyable environment to learn in, while also encouraging me to become more independent. Instead of showing me how to do experiments, he gave me the guidance and confidence to eventually carry them out on my own. Florian is also a very good communicator. He sets clear expectations, is understanding of students' schedules and individual needs, and is always approachable when I have questions or need help. Beyond his role as a mentor, Florian was also very thoughtful and caring toward everyone in the lab. He celebrated birthdays for me and others and did a great job organizing events and activities that brought everyone together. I would highly recommend Florian as a tutor, mentor, or supervisor. He is an excellent teacher who combines knowledge, patience, and encouragement to make the learning experience both effective and enjoyable. I am very grateful for the experience of working with him and for everything he taught me.
