My name is Diana and I am currently in my second year at Queen's University, Faculty of Law. I am also a teaching assistant at the Faculty. Prior to this, I worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Ottawa for 2 years for various undergraduate-level courses. From my experience working closely with professors, I learned how universities approach teaching (and grading!) - and most importantly, how to succeed! After years of working as a teaching assistant and tutoring students privately, I am looking to grow my clientele and help other students improve their work and grades. My services include brainstorming essays, helping with research, editing assignments, reviewing past tests as well as general academic and school application counseling. If you are looking for help in any of those areas - reach out to me and take your first step towards succeeding in university!

University of Oxford
Hello! I am a fourth year undergraduate at the University of Oxford, where I am studying Classics. In the Autumn, I will embark upon a postgraduate qualification in Philosophy. I am enthusiastic about the literature, history, languages and philosophy of the ancient world, and I share this enthusiasm with my students of all ages to help them fulfil their potential. I have been tutoring online for over 5 years, delivering hundreds of sessions in that time. I have prepared students for 13+ tests, GCSE , and A-level examinations with students going on to achieve excellent examinations results winning places at top secondary schools and universities. Looking for exam help? I have a strong track-record of helping my students to reach and exceed their academic aims, all in the friendly and encouraging session allowing students to experience both success and challenge. I tailor my sessions to individual students' needs, focussing on their problem areas and supporting their work at school. Looking for university preparation? At Oxford, I have been involved with the admissions procedures, advising students on their application materials, preparing them for interview, and revising for admissions tests. I know from experience that it is important to approach the admissions process as a whole, and I am able to offer support and guidance throughout this process as well as sessions on personal statements, aptitude tests (CAT, LAT or TSA) as well as interview preparation sessions.

I completed my undergraduate degree in mathematics at the University of Oxford, and then my PhD at Imperial College London. I have been through the experiences my students are having, from school level through the the MAT for university and university admissions interviews. I enjoy maths because it becomes a puzzle you can solve logically, with surprising and beautiful patterns emerging from nothing. My tutoring style is concentrated on the idea that understanding must be built on understanding. To that end I make sure I listen to the students and find where they are confident, and where they need help. If they are struggling with a concept, I find that going back to where they do grasp the ideas and working up from there can have great effect. I also believe that memorizing equations and formulae is much easier if you are shown how they arise, so I try to include that before moving on to problems. I have been tutoring for 10 years, and won the Imperial College Excellence in the Support of Teaching and Learning Award in 2019. I have also attended workshops in the teaching of mathematics, on how to teach mathematics, especially algebra, to school aged students in a successful way. I am also able to provide tuition to support students in their university applications for mathematics by preparing them with transferable skills for the entrance exam process.
