I help students connect genetics and neuroscience concepts with clear scientific explanations, stronger research questions, and reproducible analysis. My highest completed degree is a UC San Diego BS in Molecular Biology and Cognitive Science with a Neuroscience specialization. My UCLA neuroscience graduate coursework and research began in September 2023; no graduate degree has been awarded.
My experience includes UCSF functional-genomics research, research in the Shweta Joshi immuno-oncology lab at UC San Diego, and UCLA brain-imaging/genetics and DNA-methylation aging analyses. I also worked as a UCLA Writing Consultant and held UC San Diego undergraduate instructional appointments in Genetics and Genes, Brains, and Behavior. I have extensively coached 40 people toward science and research goals.
I offer genetics and neuroscience tutoring, paper and figure interpretation, scientific-writing feedback, study-design discussion, and introductory R/tidyverse analysis and visualization. We work on your own reasoning and drafts through focused examples, constructive feedback, and teach-back practice. I also support high-school chemistry, AP Physics 1/2 and introductory calculus, grounded in completed AP coursework and subsequent quantitative science training.
