About
I am an experienced elementary educator with 28 years of experience working with young learners. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, and I currently teach second grade.
My expertise includes reading, phonics, reading comprehension, writing, spelling, vocabulary, and foundational literacy skills for students in grades K–5. Throughout my career, I have supported students with different learning styles, strengths, and academic needs.
I believe effective tutoring begins with understanding where a student is currently and identifying the specific skills that need strengthening. I use individualized, age-appropriate instruction to help students close learning gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and become more confident and independent learners.
My approach is patient, encouraging, and engaging. I want students to feel successful during our sessions while developing skills they can carry back into the classroom and use independently.
