Tutor Information

About

Learning research methods and statistics can be challenging. My role is to guide you in problem solving so you can connect the methods you are learning to the tasks you need to complete to be successful. Let's work together to develop your skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods. Reach out to me today if you aim to improve your skills and understanding in statistics, literature review, interviewing skills, theorizing and hypothesis development, experimental design, survey methodology, questionnaire development, data analysis, or writing for research. I am nearing completion of a Ph.D. in Business (Major=Marketing, Minor=Psychology) at University of Alberta School of Business. I have a strong background in psychology, research methods, and statistics. My research publications have appeared in Journal of Marketing Research, Behavior Research Methods, and Methodological Innovations. As an educator, I specialize in research methods for psychology and marketing. My focus is on connecting theory to methods and helping you develop the skills you need to implement those methods so you can achieve your learning and career objectives. I have extensive experience as a tutor in statistics and calculus for undergraduate students at the University of Manitoba. I have also served as a teaching assistant in cognitive psychology and statistical methods for research. At the University of Alberta School of Business I have served as the primary instructor for two sections of Marketing Research and as a teaching assistant across a wide range of other marketing and methods courses. I have also supervised and mentored undergraduate and graduate students in their marketing research projects.

Statistics

Rory is patient and has an extensive understanding of statistics. Can convey significant concepts in a simplified and synthesized way. My limited, at best, knowledge of statistics will surely improve with his help.
