Tutor Information

About

My name is Matthew H. I have been tutoring full-time for over 12 years. Many of my students have dramatically improved their proficiency and test scores. I am one of the top tutors because I am so easy to work with. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University. I also earned a Provost Academic Scholarship for my excellent test scores, including 34 in ACT math and 780 in SAT math. I teach K - 12th grade, as well as college students and business professionals. I am patient, creative and friendly. Many of my students tell me that I explain concepts more effectively than their teachers. I am available weekdays or weekends, days or nights, for the entire year. Test Preparation Methodology a) A student will complete several manageable assignments throughout the week. b) During our tutoring session, we will identify specific errors and deficiencies. c) For each area of weakness, I will cover all facets of the topic to identify the root cause of the issue. d) We will develop a customized strategy turn problematic areas into strong foundations. e) Students will apply material covered to similar problems and scenarios. f) I will suggest practice test sections that will focus on subject matter needing reinforcement through targeted self-study. Typical score increases range from 3-8 points on the ACT. Some of my elite scholars have earned perfect scores on one or more of sub-sections. Study resources and practice tests and are available at no additional charge.

ACT

Matt is an awesome tutor, especially in the math department. He helped me improve my ACT score by 4 whole points and my math score improved by 5 points. 10/10 recommend!

GMAT

I hired Matt to specifically help me prepare for the Quantitative section of the GMAT. We met online for several 2-hour tutoring sessions over the course of a month. Matt was very understanding of my busy work schedule and worked our appointments around this. During our tutoring sessions, Matt did a great job of explaining and helping me solve GMAT exam practice problems. He is very friendly and laid back, while also being an utmost professional. I highly recommend him for any of your graduate school level exam preparations.

GRE

He knows his math subjects and material and I have learned new tricks to make working problems quicker. He is punctual and organized and I greatly appreciate that as well.

math

Matthew was originally hired to assist my nephew in preparation for the Parochial High School Admissions exam. Building a relationship with Matthew was the best thing for my nephew. Matthew was very safe going into this situation creating a trusting environment. Not knowing what he was walking into, Matthew quickly learned that my nephew’s academic inabilities were far more important than preparing for a high school entrance exam. Immediately Matthew begin working on creating a plan of action. He is very patient, yet intentional about holding my nephew accountable. Moreover, he follows up and send reminders for my nephew (I.e. don’t forget to bring your book home from school, remember to work on your math). Although we have a long way to go, it’s safe to say that we are seeing some progress. Thanks Matthew.
