Hi! My name is Katie, I consider myself to be a lifelong collector of knowledge, and find that I learn as much while teaching as my students do! Some of the knowledge I've collected; -Over a decade of childcare experience, including tutoring and mentoring -My B.S. Biochemistry from Gonzaga University -A published article in a Nature subsidiary (Neupane, T., Chambers, L.R., Godfrey, A.J. et al. Microbial rhodoquinone biosynthesis proceeds via an atypical RquA-catalyzed amino transfer from S-adenosyl-L-methionine to ubiquinone. Commun Chem 5, 89 (2022)) -Several ski instructing certifications; Level 1, Child Specialist 1, and Level 2 -2 years of business management experience -Lab management experience at Plug Power, a hydrogen power cell company -A composite year of solo global travel time -Conversational proficiency in Spanish (currently learning French and Japanese as well!) I'm beyond excited to be tutoring again. The ability to challenge your own viewpoints and help others challenge theirs is a big part of my life, and I want to bring that creativity into helping you (and me) learn something new! My teaching style tends to be very fun and creative - I put a lot of import into each student's learning style and making sure material makes sense in the long term, and not just for the next test. Each student is an individual and as a one-on-one tutor I have the delight of getting to make sure learning feels that way!
