Welcome!
I’m a professional writer and university instructor with over a decade of experience teaching students of all ages—both in the U.S. and internationally—to write with clarity and confidence.
There isn’t a person on this planet (including writers!) who doesn’t find writing challenging. Many students believe they’re “bad” writers, without realizing that difficulty is simply part of the process.
I help students approach writing logically. I introduce the basic structure of academic writing, a clear, flexible framework that can be adapted to any context. Once students understand this foundation, they’re free to develop and express their ideas more creatively and efficiently.
I also work with students on grammar, organization, research, and the development of ideas at every stage of the writing process.
Whether you’re writing an essay for a class, preparing for a proficiency exam, or simply trying to strengthen your writing overall, lessons are always tailored to the individual.
I also love teaching literature and helping students become more thoughtful, analytical readers.
I hold an MA in English literature from Stanford and have extensive experience as a freelance journalist and editor. My writing has appeared in a range of publications, and I bring that real-world perspective into every session.
Having lived in China for nearly three years and traveled widely across Europe and Asia, I especially love working with and meeting students from around the globe.
