I have a BS, MS, and a PhD in Zoology from Berkeley, but easily the most important knowledge I picked up along the way was how to think critically, and by doing so, I was able to learn just about anything on my own. This capability helped me succeed working with BARDA, NASA, as an expert witness, and as a teacher in multiple settings. I believe a good teacher instills in his/her students such enthusiasm for learning the it becomes a life-long pursuit, one that can be enjoyed on one's own---no teacher required! By learning to think critically, not only will you do better academically, you will do better in life. You will not be taken in by false promises. You will be able to separate the wheat from the chaff, and you will have fun doing so!
