A Teacher You Cherish Forever

Anyone who is taught by her will be blessed by her kindness. I had her as an English teacher in highschool. Her classroom from the colors on the walls, posters, down to the lighting was made for optimal learning. She taught us English, she made it fun. My entire senior class called her Mama Ferret because she has this maternal essence about her. My entire class lined up early for her class, joked with the previous class to hurry up it’s our turn. My entire class cried on graduation day and hugged. Cliques didn’t exist in her class. She truly cares about you and willing to work with you until you get it. In addition to teaching English lessons she taught us life lessons like car maintenance in the winter, handy work, how to play card games to keep our minds sharp. She referenced popular music artists and pointed out how poetic their music is. She taught us to branch out. The best memory in highschool is when the entire class stood up and recited Oh Captain My Captain scene from the dead poet society. She is a teacher that can change lives. Her class helped me build confidence in myself and strengthened my passion for creative writing. 5 stars aren’t nearly enough to rate her. She is a sky full of stars. If I could relive highschool I would want to spend every day in her class.

The kind of teacher you never forget

Beth Feret is one of those teachers that you never forget, the kind of teacher you think about years after experiencing them, and tell your kids about. I took Beth’s class when really, it was out of my league. However, with her help and encouragement I passed. When I felt unintelligent, and like I was in the wrong place, she picked me back up and made me feel as though I belonged. I did not take enough advantage of having her as a mentor. She is really incredible, patient, kind, and funny. I always looked forward to her class or our one on one sessions. I cannot recommend her as a tutor enough. If you have the opportunity to work with Beth, take it, you won’t regret it. She changes lives. She changed mine.

Best teacher ever

I was lucky enough to have Beth Feret as my teacher twice. Freshman and Senior year of high school. She is the kind of teacher to make you feel safe and heard. She taught me a new way of analyzing while reading. There are still discussions of short stories I think about from her class, 9 years later. She taught us to "fail with dignity." I cannot say enough good things about her as a teacher and a person. I truly could not have asked for a better teacher to start and end high school with.
