Hello! My name is Mary, and I am passionate about bringing your ideas to life by helping you improve the clarity, flow, and style of your writing!
I love all things related to writing — I have written short stories almost my entire life and am working on my first science-fiction novella. Along with creative writing, I wrote numerous essays during my university years. My strong writing skills helped me succeed academically, as I graduated with high distinction last year. I love helping others, and bringing my writing expertise to support people in their academic and creative pursuits is a passion of mine!
As a peer academic coach at my university for a mandatory course focused on philosophy from the Enlightenment to the present day, I prepared students for writing essays in university by explaining the assignment instructions, reviewing and discussing their essays, and directing them to helpful writing resources. I enjoyed passing down my knowledge to these first-year students so much that I applied to become a writing tutor at my university. As a writing tutor, I helped students from all years improve the clarity, concision, and persuasiveness of their academic papers, scholarship proposals, and cover letters.
I loved both these positions so much that I have continued to tutor high school and university students in writing to help them succeed in their academic, professional, and creative lives. and have seen massive improvements in the quality of their writing while embracing their unique voice to craft persuasive essays, strong professional documents, and compelling stories.
