I have over two decades of experience teaching signing at all levels. I have been very successful in teaching students to learn and acquire good expressive and receptive sign skills. I am very passionate about the success of my students. I use strategies that make learning signing fun and very interesting. I keep my students very involved and engaged in my lessons. New sign vocabulary and sign structures I teach are immediately modeled and put into practice, which enhances students' retention. I pace my lessons to ensure the learning styles of the students are very well accommodated. I use approaches that foster deeper level of thinking and understanding of the use of signing in various contexts. I treat all my students with due regard, acceptance, and caring support. Their success in acquiring good sign language skills is very important to me. I provide one-on-one support to achieve that goal when required.

Never thought ASL would be so easy!
It’s easy to learn ASL because Jonah is a great teacher. He’s patient, funny, and ALWAYS encourages questions/learning. There is no shame in asking him something you don’t understand. And he always knows exactly what you mean when you have a question about grammar/usage/signing motions (in my experience). Learning with Jonah has made me realize I want to practice ASL for the rest of my life, and that I am capable of it!!!

Very engaging
I'm late deafened and my husband is hearing. We're learning ASL to improve our communication with each other. Jonah was very engaging. He's helpful, exudes joy, and makes learning fun.

Helped our son!
My 15yo son wanted to learn ASL for a school project. He’s learning so much and enjoying it that he’s kept up for over 2 years. Jonah is wonderful with him and flexible- as teenagers aren’t the most organized. Thank you Jonah- you have made him love virtual learning!
