About
Hello!
My name is Craig and I am eager to work with you. Here is some information about me so that you can decide if I am the right person to help: I am a graduate from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a degree in Foreign Language and International Trade. My love of language started in high school when I was an exchange student in Panama. I lived for six months with a local host family, I learned to speak Spanish and I adapted to the culture. This experience has made me a much more flexible person, better able to work and communicate with people from other cultures and backgrounds. Learning Spanish has also made me much better at understanding my own native language.
While in university I taught Spanish and Latin Dance through the continuing education program at John A. Logan College. Since graduating I have lived in Colombia, South America. Here I have taught English in SENA (Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje), Institución Universitaria CESMAG, Universidad Mariana, and Universidad de Nariño.
I love helping others, which always makes teaching people a pleasure. My teaching methods include games and conversation, along with grammar and sentence structure exercises. I think it is important to combine the best aspects of the Indirect and Grammar Based Methods.
