About

Hi, I'm Aisha, a working composer and producer. I teach composition, theory and production to young musicians aged 8 - 18. I have found brilliant fulfillment in watching my students grow in their passion and approach to music. I have been mentoring students in composition for two years. I trained in the UK, where I was educated at Gordonstoun, known for its unique character education, during which I performed at various locations, such as Steinway Hall in London. Because I'm actively writing and producing music, my students learn from someone who does this for real, every week. My composition and production lessons are activity-based and conversational. Rather than handing you a formula, I combine knowledge of composition whilst drawing out the students' originality. We work mainly in contemporary styles using tools such as BandLab and MuseScore, or if you have access to it - Logic Pro. Theory lessons are slightly more structured and dependant on where the student is and how they like to learn. I specialise in pop, rock, folk and alternative music. I want my students to feel completely comfortable sharing their strangest, boldest creative ideas - that's when brilliant music begins to form.
