About

FOR ALL NEW STUDENTS- FREE INTRODUCTORY SESSION My name is Nonhlanhla Valentinia Mokoena, I am a final year (4th) student at University of Johannesburg studying towards a bachelor’s degree in Education, specializing in English Senior phase and FET, & History FET. I am also a student teacher and a dedicated English and History Tutor knowledgeable in tutoring methods and assessment. Strong communicator enjoys collaboration with key players to enhance overall results. Specific skillset in English HL & FAL and History for high school students . Passionate about helping students to succeed and gain confidence in the use of the English language. My aim is to assist, encourage and support students to achieve their learning goals, I am an enthusiastic Tutor because I want my students to feel that I am highly spirited and faithful that I can tutor them well, help them to be better when it comes to verbal, written and comprehension of the English language. My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually.
