The Level 5 TEFL course with The TEFL Academy is a fully accredited program equivalent to a university-level qualification. It covers key areas like lesson planning, teaching methodology, grammar, phonology, and classroom management, along with practical guidance for both online and in-person teaching. One of the biggest benefits is the emphasis on creating adaptable lesson plans for different learning styles, plus completing assessed teaching practice and assignments that build real-world skills. Overall, it gave me confidence to teach learners of all ages and levels effectively and opened doors to international and online teaching opportunities.

I completed a one-year Culinary and Hospitality certificate program, gaining hands-on experience in cooking, baking, table service, flower arrangement, and wine courses, along with learning about hospitality operations, restaurant history, and farm-to-table practices. I also worked with catering companies, high-end restaurants, and events—including large corporate functions and at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town—developing practical skills and real-world experience in both kitchen and front-of-house operations. Afterwards, I worked for a catering company for several years, but at the start of 2025, I decided to pursue teaching, drawn by my passion for education and the desire for greater stability.

I am currently teaching English to Ukrainian students, improving their fluency and conversational skills, while creating engaging lessons. I joined shortly after completing all my courses. This allows me to make a difference in their lives while gaining valuable teaching experience and insights into Ukrainian culture. I am comfortable using various virtual classrooms, communication platforms, and LMS. I am a native English speaker, also fluent in Afrikaans, and have a basic understanding of Portuguese

In addition I did several demo lessons which were highly reviewed by English teachers and completed 10 hour teaching practice in Cape Town to 21 adults.
