À propos

Hi, I’m Julia! I’m a second-year PhD student in Operations Research and a teaching assistant at MIT. I have seven years of tutoring experience, working with students from elementary school through third-year university. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto with a 4.00 GPA and a 97.6% average, receiving a university-wide scholarship recognizing me as the top female science graduate. I then pursued graduate-level mathematics coursework at the University of Cambridge before beginning my doctorate at MIT. Alongside my teaching assistant role at MIT, I have served as a teaching assistant for Calculus at the University of Toronto and Astronomy at OCAD University. I teach school mathematics, single-variable and multivariable calculus, linear algebra, ordinary differential equations, logic, set theory, proof writing, introductory probability and statistics, introductory physics, classical mechanics, and quantum information and computation. My approach is patient, clear, and tailored to each student. We can unpack challenging concepts, work through practice problems step by step, prepare for exams, or strengthen your foundations. My goal is to help you understand the reasoning and become more confident solving problems independently. Lessons are online at $70 CAD per hour. I offer a free 15-minute introductory consultation to discuss your goals.
