Tutor Information

About

Hello world, my name is Khurshid and I am a 3rd-year co-op student majoring in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Waterloo. Present days, I am working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at SNOLAB laboratory. I am very passionate about teaching mathematics and physics at the university and high school levels. I strongly believe that mathematics and physics can be enjoyable and fascinating if taught properly. This is why I make sure I adjust my teaching style to students' needs as everyone learns differently. I hope I will be able to guide and support you through a course and make you more comfortable at learning mathematics.

Undergraduate Research Assistant
The research project on « Numerical simulation of flexible flagella in viscous fluids » under the supervision of Prof. Henry Shum from the Department of Applied Mathematics. In this project, I focused on developing models and numerical tools for simulating the dynamics of flexible filaments. The main application is in bacterial propulsion, where the interaction of rotationally driven flagella with the surrounding fluid leads to net driving forces for pushing the bacterium forward or causing the cell to turn.
