Expert Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy, CASPER & MCAT Lecturer + Tutor - 10 years experience - Medical Resident

I am a medical resident with over 9 years of experience tutoring university courses and the MCAT. I scored in the 97th percentile for the Chem/Phys and 99th percentile for the Bio/Biochem sections of the MCAT (2017). I have also taught university exam prep and MCAT science lessons to in-person classes of over 150 students, as well as recorded over 1000 hours of 1-on-1 tutoring. Additionally, my work experience as a TA has taught me the ins and outs of how university exams are written, along with what students can expect from them. In chemistry and biology courses I can consistently predict the types of questions (and occasionally exact questions) that come up on exams. On top of my lecturing experience, I have also helped students to prepare for the MCAT exam. If you're writing the MCAT, I can work with you to design a study schedule, recommend high yield resources, as well as teach you an approach on how to tackle important MCAT questions/passages. In general, when tutoring I like to break down complex concepts into smaller steps using silly and efficient tricks. I've additionally completed a Master's in Neurosciences/Neuroanatomy and finished medical school in Canada. I have expertise tutoring the following tests/subjects ($100/hour): MCAT (Chem/Phys, CARS, Bio, Psych/Soc) Organic Chemistry (>3000 hours between tutoring + TA + class instruction) General Chemistry Biology (TA experience) Physics I also have expertise in Medicine, Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Neuroscience and offer sessions in Medicine/NBME/Nursing/Physiotherapy/MSK Anatomy/Neuroanatomy/Pharmacy/CASPER exam for ***$50/hr (50% discount) Scored in the top quartile on the CASPER examination (2022) Below are sample tutoring resources that I created to complement my lessons. Also, I have attached some of my student's MCAT scores before versus after our tutoring sessions! Reach out if you're interested in setting up a session! :)

Experienced Organic Chemistry Tutor

Chemistry is an overwhelming and frustrating subject for many students. I specialize in breaking down concepts and explaining them in an understandable way. Recognizing that everyone does not learn a subject in the same manner, I constantly adapt my teaching style to meet the individual needs of my students. My role as a tutor is to help my students gain the self-confidence they need to learn the material and attain their educational goals. I have several years of tutoring experience in Organic Chemistry. My students have ranged from science majors to business majors. Many have plans to attend medical or veterinary school. Quite a number have been in nursing or health science programs. As a graduate student, I was a teaching assistant for General Chemistry, undergraduate Organic Chemistry lab, and advanced Organic Chemistry lab. During my years of undergraduate and graduate research, as well as my time spent as a postdoctoral researcher and research scientist, I supervised undergraduates starting their own research careers. I want to be a beneficial resource for my students, and I welcome any materials or suggestions they may have. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule an appointment. I will always give a prompt reply to any inquiry.

Transformational Math and Algebra Tutor Specializing in Rewiring Students' Brains for Life

Hi there! My name is Ayomide (pronounced eye-yo-ME-day) and I'm an Ohio native with a profound love for math and a gift for translating math to the unique brain language to anyone at any level. I have 5 years of tutoring experience and a background in cognitive neuroscience (the science in how people learn and behave) which fuels my passion for providing the opportunity for every student to finally understand math. I specialize in Algebra and also love offering sessions of elementary and basic math. In my time tutoring, I've taught students from 8 years to 55 years young, autistic students, students with ADHD, students with information retention challenges, students with traumatic brain injuries, and advanced students. All had different goals: pass their final exam to enter nursing school, to finally not fail math, to achieve their GED, to stay ahead in class. With every student I've had, they not only achieved, yet surpassed their goals. How do I do this? I don't focus on simply going over the materials, many can do this, including ChatGPT, that isn't what you're paying a tutor for. The value I provide is human to human connection, using my natural pattern discerning abilities to pinpoint what unique challenges my students carry. This allows me to tailor every session to every individual pupil. From anxiety and overthinking every problem, to chronic mental math dependency, to being more of an artsy type than a logic type, I take the strengths that every student brings to the table and spin it in their favor. I work in the business of changing lives and would love to touch yours. Let's talk!

Work smarter, not harder!

Did school suck this year? Feel like you didn't really learn that much? This summer I am running sessions designed to help you get caught up and ready for next year. These sessions include a diagnostic assessment of where you are currently at, a custom curriculum (we can do multiple subjects), and a student success component for soft skills. Sessions can be for any type of transition (grade to grade, grade school to high school, or high school to post-secondary) Message me today for more information. As a member of the Dean's Honour Roll at the University of Windsor, I have demonstrated excellence in my field while also developing techniques to make learning a fun process that will facilitate life-long curiosity. In addition to learning a wide variety of disciplines through in-class instruction, I have been a Teaching Assistant for Effective Writing, have travelled to England for a semester abroad, and have spent a year working in Parliament. Together we will focus on asking "why". This is the key to understanding subject matter, and it will help you to become a more inquisitive student. Not only will we review and analyze material, but I will teach you how to use graphic organizers and educational resources to get the most out of your learning experience.
