Hi! Iām Alyssa. Iām an experienced tutor, certified proofreader, and skilled editor who loves connecting with others and helping build their confidence with English. I work with women and girls ages 13 and up, both English language learners (ESL, EFL, ESOL, ELL, MLL) and native speakers alike. Whether youāre learning English, need a peer to proofread a paper, or just want some help understanding a writing assignment, Iām here to help. Since 2016, Iāve served students from a variety of backgrounds. Iāve taught writing, grammar, and spelling at the elementary, middle, and high school levels; coached college students through writing assignments; and tutored adult English language learners from Egypt and Mexico. (Fun fact: English is my native language, but I am also learning Spanish and Arabic.) I foster a welcoming, engaging environment so you can comfortably learn and grow, and I use different approaches to present and explain concepts to deepen understanding. Because every person is unique, I tailor each session to your needs, strengthening and encouraging you to help you succeed and enjoy learning. If youāre seeking to learn English, our lessons will equip you to use English naturally in everyday situations. Youāll learn vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar and gain real-world practice through conversation, reading, and writing. Iāll also use pictures and visual aids to make new concepts easier to understand and remember. If you need proofreading help, Iāll work with you to spot and fix any grammar, punctuation, formatting, spelling, or word choice issues, helping your writing shine. I offer a free 15 minute introduction session, so if you have questions, would like to meet me, or want to start lessons, message me and we'll get scheduled. I look forward to working with you and wish you all the best on your learning journey!

Are you burnt out on writing? Lost in the writing process, essay structure, or citation rules? Confused by music and music theory? Struggling to grasp elementary school concepts? I can help! I love learning and am passionate about helping others enjoy the learning process. With 10 years of experience teaching music (piano and violin), I have worked with students of all ages, learning styles, and abilities. My favorite moment is when the lightbulb goes on and a student grasps the concept they were struggling with. I am comfortable teaching music as well as coaching writing and helping tutor elementary grades. In high school I hated writing, but then I found my voice and fell in love with communicating in written form. Now I am self-published author, blogger, writer, editor, and successful academic writer. I have expertise with APA and MLA style academic writing as well as freelance article writing. I can provide writing assistance from structuring an essay to working on college papers and using correct citation to crafting writing and communication that connects with modern readers. I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation to see if I am a good fit and can assist you with what you need.
