I am an OCT certified science educator working in Toronto, Canada. I received my BSc and MSc in Microbiology and Immunology at Western University and recently graduated from the Master of Teaching program at University of Toronto's OISE faculty of teaching. I have worked as a university level teaching assistant and tutored for high-school Biology and Chemistry for a combined 4 years of experience. As an educator, I have extensive experience working with students to find the optimal way to teach the material and determine where they need help. My background knowledge coupled with my experience as a teacher and tutor provide me with the necessary tools to effectively tutor students in Science. HI, I'm Ahad, a passionate 4th-year medical student. Medicine encompasses more than just hard science. My experience as a mentor and tutor nurtured my passion to help those around me; I found that helping students required more than knowledge of their subject. Rather, I was only able to address their difficulties when I sought their underlying fears and feelings. To me, creating a strong bond and proper relationship with my mentees and students is the preliminary step to understanding their strengths and weaknesses. My aim in teaching is not limited to simply retelling lectures, in fact, it's making sure that the students understand their value and potential so they succeed in reaching their goals.
