Hi,I am Richard (Reza) with a B.Sc in Math. I have been a full time UBC,SFU,UVIC,VIU,TRU,AU,UofT Math tutor for the past 25 years.I will use interactive software and write every thing down on whiteboard so that by the end of the tutorial you will have 10-12 pages of neatly written digital notes taken with a Wacom pen and tablet . I will use sketches and diagrams to visualize and simplify complex concepts.I will explain concepts in a step by step manner and explain all the details of the calculations.Together we will also solve recent midterms and finals to prepare you for exam type questions. I will apply efficient problem solving strategies and accelerated learning techniques to prepare you for quizzes, midterms and the final exam. My method of tutoring is to work with you to develop your theoretical understanding of the concepts. I will ask you questions and guide you towards the answer, while at the same time pointing out efficient strategies for solving exam type questions. About me: I hold a Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Electrical & Computer Engineering from McMaster University, where my research focused on optical wireless communications. I have 7+ years of teaching experience as a TA at both McMaster and the University of Tehran, and I have tutored 130+ students across +1100 hours throughout Canada and the US. I know firsthand how difficult ECE and math courses can be — and I know exactly where students get stuck. My sessions focus on building real understanding, not just getting through the homework. I explain the "why" behind the math, work through your actual course material, and send you session notes afterward so nothing gets lost. Courses I Can Help With: ● Electrical Engineering: Signals & Systems, Electrical Circuits, Circuits & Systems, Electronics I, Communication Systems, Digital Communications, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) ● University Math: Calculus I-IV, Differential Equations, Probability & Statistics, Linear Algebra ● High School: Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, Physics 11 & 12, BC Pre Calculus 11 & 12 ● Programming: MATLAB About the lessons: Every session is built around your course — your textbook, your professor's slides, your upcoming exam. I don't use generic problem sets; I work through what you're actually struggling with right now. Here's what a typical session looks like: we start by identifying exactly where you're stuck, I walk you through the concept from first principles until it clicks, then we practice with exam-style problems until you can do it on your own. I record sessions on request and send typed notes after each lesson. I'm available for one-time exam prep sessions as well as ongoing weekly tutoring. Most students see a noticeable improvement within 2–3 sessions. Reach out to confirm availability — I typically respond within an hour. Please note that the listed price reflects the base rate. Hourly rates may increase depending on the course.

Growing Passion. Building Experience. Thinking Relatable. Hi, I’m Bret, founder of PHYSiMATICS International Academy. I hold an Honours B.Sc. in Physics from the University of British Columbia and have experience as a university Physics Laboratory Instructor and Math & Science Tutor. I specialize in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, and Statistics, helping students develop the understanding and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in challenging STEM courses. How I teach My approach is problem-driven. We begin with carefully selected examples, identify the underlying concepts, and develop a clear, repeatable method for solving similar problems. You learn not only how to reach an answer, but how to recognize which method to use and why it works. Tutorials may include visualizations, worked examples, step-by-step problem-solving strategies, reinforcement questions, and quizzes with individualized feedback. I use your course syllabus and learning goals to identify priorities and build a structured Plan of Action. My goal is to help you become a more confident, independent problem solver while making difficult concepts easier to understand and apply. Subjects Calculus, Linear Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Algebra, Physics, Statistics, Statics, Dynamics, Structural Analysis, and related STEM subjects. Whether you need help with a particular topic, exam preparation, or ongoing support across several courses, I can help you organize your learning and make steady progress. Send me your course, the topics you are studying, and what you would like to achieve. We can arrange a free introductory discussion through TutorOcean to review your goals and determine an appropriate learning plan. I look forward to helping you make progress in your studies!

I'm Jadon currently an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin and strive to become a math professor. I was at the top of my class in high school, taking Calculus III as a senior, finishing with honors, and a 104 GPA. I have had prior tutoring experience in math, history and Spanish while working at Kumon for two years. In this environment, I interacted with 2-5 students in a classroom, assisting them when needed and creating a stress-free environment they could enjoy. I also started my own tutoring organization known as No Pay to Learn and Play for three years. I created this organization to help those in isolation do well in school. I strove to create a personal connection with them and would often play chess with them after our lesson to learn more about their personality. This was to better tailor my teachings to their personality and needs. I have come to understand how important the relationship between the student and teacher is when it comes to the learning experience. This relationship could change how a student views a subject forever and improve how they learn the subject altogether. I am a firm believer that every student has different forms of learning and deserves my undivided attention to understand what they need. In order to incorporate this ideology, I would ask the students what their ambition is and connect what they are learning to that ambition. In this way, the student will become more motivated to learn the material. I would ask how they learn best: visually, through listening or maybe something else. Lastly, I would be patient and engaging with the student in that I would continue to explain the concept until they understand, and I would create more creative methods of learning such as mnemonic devices. I am very flexible with my schedule and quick to respond. My goal is to improve students' learning experience and enjoy learning. I wish to help students get ahead or get back on track.

Hi! I’m Tryggve — a creative, experienced STEM tutor with a strong background in youth development and playful, inquiry-based learning. I’m a junior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, majoring in Biochemistry with minors in Chemistry and Game Studies & Design. Outside class, I enjoy designing board games, running cross country, and watching clouds drift by. I’m honored to be an Illinois State Scholar and a recipient of the Bausch + Lomb Honorary Science Award—recognitions that reflect my commitment to academic excellence and scientific curiosity. I’ve tutored students from elementary through high school in chemistry, math, and biology. My journey began with one-on-one tutoring through the National Honor Society. Since then, I’ve led hands-on science lessons for younger students (lemon volcanoes are a favorite!), supported inquiry-based learning at Riveredge Nature Center, and facilitated play-based tutoring for middle school English learners. My teaching philosophy: STEM is for everyone. I aim to make learning fun, accessible, and empowering—blending playful pedagogy, student-driven exploration, and deeper questioning. My background in game design helps me teach in ways that feel like discovery, not memorization. Whether we’re tackling tricky math or demystifying chemistry, I focus on building confidence step by step. Together, we’ll turn challenges into strengths—and make learning not just manageable, but genuinely fun. Message me to start your learning journey!
