Emory grad with over 12 years experience tutoring Math, Science, English, Foreign Language, and Test Prep

As an avid learner, I always encourage learning in others. I have been tutoring since 2011. In that time, I have helped over 200 students of all ages prepare for over 50 subjects, standardized tests (ACT, SAT, ISEE, SSAT, GRE, GMAT), and foreign languages (Latin, Arabic, Spanish). I began tutoring professionally in my Sophomore year at Emory as a class aide and then branched out to tutoring privately, which I have been doing ever since. On average, my students see 10-15% increases in their scores within 4-8 regular sessions, and some students have seen as high as 30% increases. I tutor not only the content by essential test-taking strategy geared towards each test to make sure students are making the most out of their time. I possess a wealth of knowledge in many areas, but one of the things that I find fun about learning is seeing how subjects connect to the real world. This is one of my greatest strengths as a tutor as I show students the different ways in which their studies connect to the world, their ambitions, and interests.

Hi! I’m Joy — a science educator with a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s in Marine Management. I specialize in biology, ecology, and environmental science, and I’m passionate about helping students not just memorize information, but truly understand it. My approach is all about sparking curiosity and finding clarity. I’ve worked in both academic and consulting settings, and I bring that real-world science experience into my tutoring. I also know how important it is to feel heard and supported — that’s why I create a space where every question is welcome, and we move at a pace that works for you. I tutor students in grades 6–12, and I’m especially great with creative or story-minded learners who benefit from a more personalized approach. Whether you’re studying for a test or just want to build your confidence, I’m here to help you thrive. and my dog is usually nearby, quietly cheering us on. 🐾

Everyone has a hard time with something. Tutor with 7 years of experience teaching everything from Math to English.

Hi there, I'm a tutor from Toronto ON with over 7 years of experience working with students. Whether you need a tutor for a couple of months to help you prepare for exams, or you want someone to work with you through a summer course or over the next year, I can help! I've tutored students from grades two to eleven, and together we've worked on their studies and overcome all sorts of difficulties. I have worked with students who have learning disabilities and IEPs, and I understand that these labels do not make you any less capable of learning. I also have experience teaching English as a second language. I am a student studying Plant Science and English at the University of Guelph, and I am always happy to talk botany or favourite books! My studies make me experienced in a variety of subjects, and it also gives me insight into the difficulties students face when they're trying to tackle a subject that's not really their area of interest. I hope we can work together to reach your goal in your studies, whatever it may be.

UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO

I believe that when it comes to grasping difficult concepts notably in physics and mathematics, there are multiple ways to make it look elementary, the learning process becomes much easier.

I'm currently pursuing my graduate degree in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry from the University of Toronto. I completed my Bachelors of Technology in Chemical Engineering from VIT University, India. Throughout my undergrad, I have been a core and later on a board member of AIChE, during which I have participated in quite a few K-12 events that involved going to schools around my university and teaching STEM subjects to the students there. Though, I have a number of favorite subjects, Maths, English, Physics and History are among the ones I feel most confident about mainly because these have been favorites since school. I believe that when it comes to grasping difficult concepts notably in physics and mathematics, there are multiple ways to make it look elementary, then the learning process becomes much easier and faster. In my opinion, with the world advancing at a rapid rate, the importance of education is clearly very evident and so is the act of gaining and imparting knowledge as it allows us to comprehend and question all that is happening around us. I try to utilize my free time by watching anime, reading some fiction and listening to true crime podcasts.
