Work smarter, not harder!

Did school suck this year? Feel like you didn't really learn that much? This summer I am running sessions designed to help you get caught up and ready for next year. These sessions include a diagnostic assessment of where you are currently at, a custom curriculum (we can do multiple subjects), and a student success component for soft skills. Sessions can be for any type of transition (grade to grade, grade school to high school, or high school to post-secondary) Message me today for more information. As a member of the Dean's Honour Roll at the University of Windsor, I have demonstrated excellence in my field while also developing techniques to make learning a fun process that will facilitate life-long curiosity. In addition to learning a wide variety of disciplines through in-class instruction, I have been a Teaching Assistant for Effective Writing, have travelled to England for a semester abroad, and have spent a year working in Parliament. Together we will focus on asking "why". This is the key to understanding subject matter, and it will help you to become a more inquisitive student. Not only will we review and analyze material, but I will teach you how to use graphic organizers and educational resources to get the most out of your learning experience.

Enthusiastic Physics and Mathematics Tutor - Physics PhD Student

Hi there, and welcome! I'm a PhD student in Physics at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Prior to this, I got my Master's of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo in Applied Math, and a Bachelor of Mathematics studying Mathematical Physics. My research interests are at the intersection of astrophysics, particle physics, cosmology, and gravitational waves. I have been tutoring students since high school as a volunteer peer tutor in math and physics, and decided to continue tutoring throughout university. At the University of Waterloo I was a private tutor for several courses (see below), where I helped several students improve their academic performances. I've also been a teaching assistant for many courses at both the University of Waterloo and Queen's University (see below), and was awarded an Outstanding TA Award for my contributions. If you're struggling in your classes, or if you just want to deepen your understanding of physics and mathematics, then you've come to the right place! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you had any questions! ---------- To see if we'd be a good fit, the first 15 minutes of the first session is free! After that we can decide whether to continue working together.

English teacher for IELTS / Business English / Technical English / General English

I am experienced at teaching English as a second language and preparing students for Academic IELTS exams. I have taught in the UK and in Abu Dhabi and have tutored students from various countries. I use a structured approach to teaching, which insures that a student's progress is based on the fundamental principles of grammar. I then move forward to developing the student's ability to follow local accents and be able to communicate on an everyday level. Academic writing is also an important part of my curriculum. In addition to teaching English for academia, I also teach Business English and Technical English. My experience has involved preparing corporate students with the ability to communicate on a technical level, in order that they are able to work within the oil/gas & petrochemical industries. I have also tutored business people, allowing them to communicate and conduct their trades within global settings.

I enjoy getting to explain the ways math and science are useful by using tangible examples. Visualizing a problem and understanding the physical meaning helps to apply principles to new problems.

I am currently working toward a Masters in Computer Science emphasizing in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence from Georgia Institute of a Technology. I have a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Missouri. I work as a full time Software Engineer at a Fortune100 company in St. Louis. I have well rounded experience in many of the math, science, and physics subjects and a good understanding of how they apply to the real world.

Ontario Certified Teacher - English Conversation & Academic/Persuasive Writing

My teaching style is strategy-based. I work with students to help them become more confident, articulate, and specific in their use of language. I do NOT waste time by giving out worksheets and rote homework that won’t help you improve— during our sessions, you will receive 100% of my full collaboration and undivided attention. ******* About me: I am an OCT-qualified teacher— who also happens to be a professional Copywriter. I have a passion for communication, storytelling, and bringing ideas to life! I love a good outline, and I scaffold concepts to communicate ideas effectively. I exude strong ambassadorship, adaptive thinking, and a results-driven approach to communication. I have worked with superstar brands including SSENSE, Browns Shoes, the Elf on the Shelf®, FELA tv, & LOLË. ******* How I Work: English is my teachable subject and passion! I focus on critical thinking/application, persuasive writing, close reading, debate, and advertising. I am qualified to support English students in the intermediate and senior category, including college, university, and professionals. *Writing Sample Requirement* If you are looking for support in creative writing, essay writing, reader response, English 1/2/3/4 U/C, or post-secondary studies, you must share a writing sample with me before our session start-time. My preference is to receive samples at least 12 hours in advance. If that’s not possible, get in touch with me to see if we can make something work. Samples include reader response, persuasive paragraph, full essay, fiction excerpt, blog post, and any other creative or professional piece that you are currently writing or have written in the past. It can be an outline, a complete first draft, or a piece that has already been evaluated. Samples are essential because they introduce me to your writing style, and a 12-hour advance gives me enough time to narrow down specific areas of focus.
