Krishna P.

UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC Irvine

An experienced tutor and a chemical engineer by profession

During high school, Krishna enjoyed studying math, physics and chemistry. As a result, he decided to get B.S degrees in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from UC Irvine. He then received his M.S from UC Berkeley in Chemical Engineering with a focus in Product Development - a program designed to innovate a new product and bring it to the market through business processes. Krishna has over 5 years of tutoring/teaching experience, both one-on-one as well as in classroom settings with 30+ students. He started tutoring as early as his senior year in high school and has since taught at private organizations and at universities in California during his undergraduate and graduate educational career. Specific courses he has taught include Geometry, Algebra I & II, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, SAT Math and ACT Math & Science. He has also done online tutoring and created online chemistry course content for a learning organization. Krishna likes teaching because he gets a chance to learn about different perspectives and different students’ approaches to learning. During his free time, he likes playing tennis, ping pong and exploring new foods and restaurants.

Old Dominion University, UCL School of Pharmacy, University of Sussex

Grad student with 10+ years experience in science offers lessons in organic chemistry and biology

During my time as a graduate student in chemistry (University of Sussex), I was also employed as an Associate Tutor. In this role, I helped supervise students during lab practicals, taught them how to use laboratory equipment, and showed them how to follow synthetic procedures from the literature. I also helped supervise master’s students during their final year research projects. I often marked lab reports and assisted my supervisor with the smooth running of seminars. I enjoy helping people and it makes me happy to watch students master new concepts. I previously obtained an MSc in pharmacognosy from the UCL School of Pharmacy (2014) in London. This program entailed a combination of courses touching upon topics in natural products chemistry, pharmacology, and ethnobotany. My final project involved screening natural and synthetic compounds against bacterial strains. I also have 3 years (2010-2013) of experience working in a pharmacy where I dispensed medications under a pharmacist’s supervision, so I am familiar with the many classes of medications. I graduated from Old Dominion University (2012) with a BS in biology (major) and chemistry (minor). Aside from the core biology courses, I also took electives in botany, ethnobotany, and plant ecology. After graduating, I spent a year working with rare cultivars of orchids in a private botany laboratory. This entailed tasks such as sterile plant tissue culture and inducing polyploidy in orchids using the drug colchicine.

UCLA

MCAT Tutor/General Biology and Chemistry Tutor

Hello there! I'm Kaley, a third-year MD/MPH student with a B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. I successfully completed all prerequisite courses for the MCAT, including biology, biochemistry, physics, and chemistry, earning straight As in each. Thanks to my effective preparation techniques and study style, I achieved an impressive score of 521 on the MCAT, consistently scoring 130+ on all sections. Recognizing the comprehensive nature of MCAT preparation, I am here to offer personalized sessions to help you create a tailored study plan that suits your unique needs and provide tutoring in all MCAT subjects. I was also employed by my undergraduate school, UCLA, to tutor pre-med courses (biology, English, and chemistry). So, I feel comfortable acting as a general biology, chemistry, and biochemistry tutor through college-level courses. After completing my MCAT studies, I recognized how difficult the test was. Now, I want to help other students excel in the MCAT by sharing the mistakes I made and tips I learned while studying for the test. I have a philosophy of tutoring that tailors my approach to my students' needs, and therefore welcome their feedback. I also welcome students who want help or guidance on the medical school application or on Step 1 preparation. I am easy to reach and will respond within 24 hours. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or schedule a lesson! Looking forward to meeting you! With my expertise and experience, I am dedicated to supporting your educational journey and helping you excel.
