JLPT N1 Japanese language tutor

Hello, my name is Michael. I have been learning Japanese for almost a decade. In 2017 I passed the JLPT N1 exam. For as long as I can remember I have been a fan of Anime and Manga, and at some point, watching and reading it in Japanese became my goal. Having learned more than 2000 Chinese characters and thousands of words, I now feel confident that I can teach other people. As a long-time student of Japanese, I know the specific hurdles that learners face. I can explain difficult topics in a way that is easy to understand and teach you effective self-learning strategies and techniques so that you can learn in between our lessons as well. Whether you love anime and manga like I do, or you want to learn Japanese for another reason, I can confidently guide you in mastering this beautiful language.

Do you want to learn Spanish? I can help you

Hello. I am a new Spanish teacher. Currently I teach one person online and she makes great progress so I decided to go that direction. I speak fluent English and Polish (native speaker) so I can explain some aspects of Spanish quite easily, if you speak these languages. In my classes I use different types of resources to teach listening, writing, reading and speaking. Obviously, everything depends from the student's level and preferences. I am not a native speaker but I remember my own way to learn Spanish and English and I believe I can use this experience to teach you. In my classes I offer explanation of the topic in a calm and positive manner and plenty of activities to practice. I believe in learning by practice and improving by analyzing our own errors just like I did. So join me and I believe we'll have great and fruitful time together.

TESOL certified Teacher with Task-based teaching experience

Most of my teaching experience has been with task-based activities and exercises. Each of my lessons started with a grammar concept that I would present. Then I had students do a couple of controlled exercises and a speaking or writing task using that grammar point. After a quick review my students moved on to the 4 basic English skills part of the lesson. They practiced exercises in speaking, reading comprehension, listening and writing . This methodology promotes maximum student engagement. It has practice exercises that encourage students to speak and write freely, producing their own thoughts in English. I have also had some opportunities to tutor one on one. I currently work at MyLingoTrip as a private tutor. As an ESL tutor, I source materials from the internet and create learning plans that are tailored to my students’ needs. The approach I use depends on a student’s learning preference, and most of them have been happy with their progress!

A thoughtful and detail-oriented writer

I have worked in education for over five years now, specializing in transitioning first-year students to second-year. My motto is to be a learning partner in the educational process. Therefore, I try to adapt to the needs of my students and adjust my practice to best suit their needs. I have extensive experience in editing and proofreading a range of assignments. My approach to assisting a student with their writing is to begin by doing a diagnostic test to see where they are at as a writer, specifically with syntax, grammar, organization, citation, supporting material, etc., then I create lessons that best suit the learning style of the student. I received awards from my work in Residence Education and distinction as an undergraduate student with an average of 10.31/ 12. I would be happy to help in history, social studies, English literature, reading, and writing for students between the ages of 8-19.
