Professional Math and Computer Science Tutor for High School

While I was in school, I would be appointed by the teachers to replace them, should they be absent, and have been teaching classes as early as when I was in grade 4. I have taught various subjects from languages ( French and English) to sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Environmental Science). I have also taught various Mathematics subjects and even economics and business studies. So long as I have a book (or other study materials) in front of me, I can teach that subject. After I graduated in 2016, I started private tutoring a student which then expanded over the years. I have tutored students from grade 4 to grade 12, mostly in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I have also tutored a couple students in SAT 1 and Economics. I prefer one-to-one tailored sessions with the students with the intention of building up their foundations. My highest achievements include improving a student struggling in Algebra to acing it (90%) and improving the overall average GPA of a student from 3.6 to 4.0 . NOTICE: Please select the correct package according to your target level. Please provide the relevant study materials so we are all on the same page.

Cedar Crest College

Adept Tutor Specializing in HS Middle School and Elementary Math

I'm Emily! I am a junior in college, majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Biology. I have been tutoring for two years, with experience ranging from elementary school students (in public school as well as home-schooled) to those in college. In high school, I worked as a teaching assistant in a study skills class, which focused on how students could study for their math class. This gave me the opportunity to work one-on-one with students who struggled with their math skills. When I helped them out, my focus was to improve their core basic math skills. Math is a foundational subject, meaning that one topic is the foundation for another. Throughout my time in college, I have tutored students that are struggling in Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Algebra. I have also helped students with elementary math through the Salvation Army. When I volunteered there, I observed that students had the most fun when they could apply math to a real-world situation (i.e. addition and subtraction with pennies and dimes). Asking questions is the first step on the path to success. Any suggestions are helpful; your input helps me be the best tutor for you. I am easy to reach and will provide quick responses. Feel free to contact me with additional questions or to schedule a lesson!

Aspiring Teacher with Several Years of Tutoring Experience

Hello, my name is Bianca and I live in America but I travel to and from the United Kingdom frequently. I have just recently finished my Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Mathematics. I tutor as a way to serve my community and improve my teaching skills. I love tutoring because I can directly connect with students and leave life-long lasting impressions to better help them in the future. Tutoring is my hobby but teaching is my passion. I want to continue tutoring for a few more years because the end result is the both of us. I have 5+ years of informal teaching but have been formally tutoring for the last 2 years. I have host study sessions multiple times a week every summer to help people of all ages in multiple subjects of math. 2 years ago I was hired at my old high school to help with after tutoring and recently have started working in the math lab a few days a week at my university. I allow my students to take the lead in my teaching approach, to stimulate critical thinking skills and improve confidence. Book a trial lesson so we can get to know each other. Let me know your goals and we can work out a game plan to make sure you achieve those goals. I look forward to the opportunity to help you get a better understanding of mathematics.

Experienced in teaching MATLAB and Python

Over 150 hours teaching experience in a mixture of MATLAB and Python, particularly to beginners who find it difficult to grasp programming. I'm currently doing my PhD in medical imaging at University College London (UCL). Graduated with a first class honours MEng degree from Biomedical Engineering at UCL. Wide knowledge in maths, physics and biology but mostly teach Python and MATLAB. I love teaching intro to MALTAB in particular as many people find it difficult to get into in engineering if they have never done programming before. I also have some experience in teaching web development with Flask or with Javascript, React and Express. In comparison to a classroom, having a tutor is different in the sense that I am able to see what the pace of the class should be depending on how fast the student grasps certain concepts, and what parts is the student struggling the most at. My teaching style really depends on the understanding of the student, their age, and the subject we are learning. I always however, love to implement visual representations of concepts. The best thing about science is when you can make extremely complicated idea something easy to understand, because that is when creativity comes in. Sometimes, especially for younger kids when they still don`t have a very detailed image of science, this is the best moment to be creative and share the love for science.

Experienced tutor trying to spread the maths cheer!

Hi, this is Heena! I am currently doing an MSc in Public Policy and Management at The University of Manchester. I achieved 8A* and 2As in my GCSE O-Levels in all science subjects and scored an A* in Mathematics and As in Physics and Biology in A-levels. I have been teaching GCSE Maths since appearing for my A-Levels, which has allowed me to develop a fantastic grasp on not only the material but the best way to convey it! I am a fun-loving, friendly person with a pleasant demeanor. My optimistic nature helps me develop a rapport with all my students, making learning all the more enjoyable for us. The general framework that I use, tweak and personalize for each student is as follows: 1. Gauging the student’s current ability 2. Developing a schedule/timetable with concrete milestones with input from the student 3. Theory-based learning 4. Practice 5. Some more practice! My go-to method to help students is past paper practice, as it allows us to cover a broad range of topics, learn exam-specific tips and tricks and, more importantly, build the student's confidence in their ability to solve an actual exam. Sticking to recent past papers ensures that our learning meets the latest requirement and is specific to the student's exam board and tier. I can support your child on a one-off or a regular basis, including homeschooled students. If you're reading this and like what you see, don't hesitate to drop me a message!

Need help with math, language, logic, science, or technology? I'm here for you!

Aloha, friend! My name is Lucas Jarrett, and I’m an online tutor! If I had to characterize my approach to helping people learn in simple terms, I would say that I believe education is a matter of teaching adaptability. The ability to adapt, or the capacity to change, is the fundamental skill of learning all things. We must always be prepared to adopt new ways of being. When we study life, we study the infinite; and when we study the infinite, our mindsets must be similar, or else we will not see everything that we could have seen. To realize that learning is the art of changing is to begin learning everything more easily. My primary goal is to help my students see and apply this awareness when studying anything they hope to do well. I have professional experience teaching many subjects, including arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, philosophy, biology, history, psychology, music, billiards, writing, research, literature, English, Java, Python, HTML, CSS, SQL, and more. Furthermore, I’m happy to offer insight into cognitive habits that often bring academic trouble, such as perfectionism, motivation, inattention, depression, and anxiety. I do not limit my educational strategies to any single methodology; I believe that every individual has a unique path in life, and I therefore work to be responsive to the specific, immediate needs of my students. Context is everything. If I'm trying to help a student become a better reader and writer, I may recommend that we explore good literature together; if I am helping someone prepare for a test in geometry, good practice problems and instructional resources will likely be part of the process. I tutor many subjects not listed here, so feel free to ask about anything! If I know how to help in a reasonable timeframe, I will help! 🙂 Note: I offer discounts to people who have financial need or pay in bulk. Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss options if my posted rate is beyond your budget!

How do you write an excellent essay for a sociology course? (e.g., research, outline, citations and bibliographies). About me: I completed my undergraduate degree at McGill University in Psychology and political science, and I plan on pursuing my graduate studies in Psychology soon. I also have relevant research experience in psychology. I am really passionate about the social sciences (e.g., psychology, political science, history, sociology) and learning about the most efficient study methods.
