Experienced College & K-12 Tutor- Math, Physics, Economics, Science, & Writing

Key Words: Discrete Math, Discrete Mathematics, Proofs, Pre-Calc, Pre-Calculus, PreCalc, PreCalculus, Calc or Calculus, Alg or Algebra, Trig or Trigonometry, Geometry, College Math, College Mathematics, Quantitative Reasoning, high school math or mathematics, Common Core, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grade I tutor students in College/University & K-12 and have 5+ yrs of experience as an online/remote Tutor. I specialize in undergraduate Math, but also frequently tutor Physics, Economics, Taxation, and English/Writing. I love Math & always hope that my enthusiasm/encouragement can help students, whether they are looking to progress in Math or just complete their required courses. I have found that all students will hit a group of Mathematical concepts that just do not click, whether it is early in K-12 or not until 3rd-4th year university level Math. It can be very frustrating, especially when it is difficult or even impossible to obtain the necessary help from teachers, campus tutors, etc. The primary goal of hiring a tutor is to receive individualized assistance & a customized approach. That is why I tailor my explanations to each student's learning style. For instance, some students prefer that I look over their work & just give them hints when they get stuck. Other students prefer to provide me with specific questions they are stuck on, & have me show them as a tutorial. I particularly try to focus on the underlying concepts & provide the student with context as to how each concept matters. Far too often, students are told to do things a certain way, but they are not told why nor even how it pertains overall. I have a BS in Mathematics from Stockton University. During college, I developed study groups in Partial Diff Eq, Engineering Graphics, & Adv Discrete Math. I was also Treasurer of Stockton's Math Club, which focused primarily on assisting local students & hosted an annual Math Mayhem competition between 12 N.J. High Schools.

Making Math Click: Experienced Tutor from Algebra to Calculus | 9+ Years

Hi, I'm Jenny! I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Utah Valley University and earned my Associate of Science in Mathematics with honors. My tutoring journey started in high school as a calculus teaching assistant—classmates kept coming to me because I made complex concepts understandable and intuitive. Over the past decade, I've tutored hundreds of students from age 11 through adults in one-on-one and small group settings, both in person and online. I cover middle school math, high school algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, and college courses including Calculus 1-3, linear algebra, differential equations, and statistics. Whether you're struggling with fractions or mastering multivariable calculus, I can help! My approach focuses on building genuine understanding rather than memorizing formulas. I learn how each student learns best, what motivates them, and where they've gotten stuck. Then I break down concepts step by step, work through problems together, and give space to practice independently so you build real confidence. I love connecting math to real life—derivatives through roller coasters, statistics through sports, algebra through budgeting. My goal is transforming how you feel about math. Students consistently report improved grades and actually enjoying math! My sessions are supportive, judgment-free, and tailored to you—mistakes are welcome because that's how we learn! I'm quick to respond and happy to adjust based on your feedback. Let's make math click for you!

I enjoy getting to explain the ways math and science are useful by using tangible examples. Visualizing a problem and understanding the physical meaning helps to apply principles to new problems.

I am currently working toward a Masters in Computer Science emphasizing in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence from Georgia Institute of a Technology. I have a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Missouri. I work as a full time Software Engineer at a Fortune100 company in St. Louis. I have well rounded experience in many of the math, science, and physics subjects and a good understanding of how they apply to the real world.

Transforming Math Struggles into Clarity, Confidence, and Academic Success

I help students transform math from a source of stress into a subject they can understand, handle, and even enjoy. I work with learners from elementary school to university and support them with clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and lessons tailored to their level, pace, and goals. My aim is not only to help students finish today’s homework, but also to strengthen their understanding, sharpen their thinking, and build lasting confidence. I teach a wide range of subjects, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, discrete mathematics, number theory, real analysis, topology, and complex analysis. Whether a student needs regular tutoring, exam preparation, assignment support, help catching up after falling behind, or enrichment beyond the classroom, I provide focused and supportive guidance designed to produce real progress. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and results-oriented. I break down difficult ideas into manageable steps, identify where the confusion begins, and help students develop the skills needed to solve problems with greater accuracy and independence. I believe strong tutoring should do more than give answers. It should build understanding, confidence, and momentum.
