Princeton University, UCLA

SAT / ACT expert & Professional Writing Consultant

Hello! My name's Matt. I'm a Princeton and UCLA graduate with nearly two decades of experience in education. Standardized Testing: I've tutored the SAT and ACT for nearly two decades. I've helped hundreds of students improve their scores significantly, often by 200-300 points on the SAT, and by as many as 8-10 points on the ACT. I'm also experienced in tutoring the GRE and the ISEE. Writing Consulting: I have 7 years of experience as a writing consultant for graduate and professional students--PhD students, master's students, and law and medical students. If you're working on a master's thesis, a dissertation, or any other advanced work (including resumes, cover letters, and personal statements), I'm the right choice for you. I've also worked extensively with undergraduates and high-school students on everything from class essays to college admissions essays. In addition to the previous two specialties, I'm also a versatile educator who is experienced in many subjects (both STEM and the humanities) across many age ranges (from kindergarten through adult learners). I have nearly twenty years of experience in education, and will help just about any student in almost any subject area. Please note that my listed rate is my maximum rate, and usually applies to standardized testing and high-level writing consulting. Please inquire about lower rates for other services.

NYU Honors Grad Turned Editor, Focused on Essay Writing

I recently graduated from NYU with a degree in English Literature, summa cum laude with high honors, graduating in the top 5% of my class, and I won my program's award for best thesis. Writing has always been my passion, in every form it takes, and I've built my career around it: I currently work as an editorial assistant at a publishing company, where I write and edit content and review writer submissions every day. My teaching experience has grown out of both formal and informal settings. In college, I co-led TEDx, working one-on-one with student speakers from their very first draft all the way through their final delivery on stage, helping them find the core of what they wanted to say and shape it into something that actually sounded like them. Outside of that, I grew up as the oldest of four siblings and have spent years informally coaching my younger siblings, cousins, and friends through their writing, from grammar basics to full college essays. Several of the students I've worked with on their college essays have gone on to get into their top-choice schools. My approach is conversational rather than clinical. I've found that the best ideas usually surface when a student is just talking through what matters to them, and my job is to help translate that conversation into writing rather than handing them a template to fill in. I focus on college essay writing specifically, working with high school juniors and seniors on personal statements and supplemental essays, but the same approach applies to any writing, grammar, or vocabulary work: ask good questions, listen closely, and help the student find and sharpen their own voice rather than mine.

Experienced teacher of mathematics and statistics at Cambridge

My name is Alexander, and I am glad to present you my short biography and academic qualifications: I have a degree of master in mathematics from Moscow State University (Moscow State University), which gave me strong fundamental knowledge in the field of mathematics. After that, I was a researcher in the project of Marie Curie in Sweden, where I was engaged in research in the field of information search. Then I trained at the Part III program on mathematical statistics at the University of Cambridge, where I expanded my knowledge and skills in the field of statistics. During my studies, I also received a certificate from Judge Business School in entrepreneurship, which emphasizes my ability to apply mathematical and statistical knowledge in practical situations. My teaching experience includes work with various age groups and levels of students. I conducted individual classes and led group classes, where I tried to adapt my approach to the educational needs of each student. My teaching style is based on understanding the unique needs of each student, building a trusting relationship and creating a stimulating and supporting educational environment. I strive to apply various methods, including active educational methods, examples from real life and practical tasks, to help students better learn the material and develop their skills. Combining my academic qualifications, research experience and teaching skills, I strive to help students deepen my understanding of mathematics and statistics, develop analytical thinking and achieve success for their educational purposes.

Johson & Wales, Providence College

Wall Street Finance & Accounting Tutor | CFA, CPA, FINRA, MBA-Level Coaching

I help students and professionals master complex finance, accounting, economics, and licensing exam concepts by focusing on how to think through problems — not just memorize formulas. My background includes experience in capital markets, risk management, financial analysis, governance, and strategic consulting across institutions connected to Wall Street and global financial organizations. I’ve worked with students ranging from undergraduates to finance professionals preparing for high-stakes exams and career transitions. I specialize in: • SIE, Series 7, Series 63, Series 65, Series 66, Series 79 • CFA Level I & II • CPA (FAR, AUD, REG) • Corporate Finance • Financial Accounting & Intermediate Accounting • Investment Banking & Valuation • Economics & Financial Markets • Excel Modeling & Financial Analysis • Risk Management & Capital Markets My teaching approach focuses on: • Breaking down difficult concepts into clear frameworks • Identifying why students get questions wrong • Teaching exam strategy and decision-making • Building confidence under time pressure • Connecting theory to real-world finance applications Many students understand the material superficially but struggle when questions become nuanced, scenario-based, or intentionally tricky. That is where I provide the most value. Sessions are structured, practical, and tailored to the student’s exact weak areas and goals. Whether you are trying to pass a licensing exam, improve grades, transition into finance, or deepen your understanding of markets and accounting, I can help create a focused plan that produces results.
