Trouble with Algebra or Precalculus? I succeeded in math, and you will too!

I’m Devin, and I’m here to boost your math scores! Inspired by the machinations of mad scientists in science fiction films and video games, I realized early on as a kid that I wanted to study science and math. A homeschooled child, I quickly took the reins to learn on my own and attended high school online through Florida virtual school. I self-studied for the PSAT exam, through which I won a National Merit Scholarship. A number of AP exams later, I attended New College of Florida, the honors college of Florida, where I worked as a teaching assistant for Genetics and General Chemistry. After earning my bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, I dove back into test prep. With a strong GRE score, I was accepted to the Computational Biology PhD program at the University of California Berkeley. There, I quickly realized that a life in the lab wasn’t for me. Instead, I decided to use my talent in the test center and the classroom to help others achieve their own academic success. As a homeschooler in college, I quickly realized how the typical classroom experience can fail students. I struggled to grasp new concepts through my instructors’ lectures. As they spoke on and on in front of the class, I would often have to give up on understanding what they were talking about. It was only after a lot of homework and one-on-one meetings with my instructors that I was able to succeed in those classes. That experience informs my approach to tutoring. I’m not going to talk at you while trudging through a presentation. We’re going to work problems together. I’m here to support and guide you, not lecture you. When you run into trouble, I’m going to pinpoint your difficulty and show you how to overcome it. We’ll keep going until you can solve these problems on your own. If you need more practice after a session, I’ll direct you to plenty of extra problems to polish your skills. You’re going to have the confidence to handle whatever a class throws at you next. Let’s get started!

Patient Maths Tutor | GCSE, SAT , GRE, IB SL with 3 Years of teaching experience

Hello!! My Name is Morgan, I am currently completing a Masters in Computer Engineering and I have 3 years of experience in teaching. I am very passionate and find pleasure helping students be it young or old in Math. I have helped students prep for Exams such as AS and A Level Math, GCSE, SAT 1&2 , PSAT, GRE, IB AA/AI Math SL. I teach the beginner and intermediate level (secondary, middle and high school). I teach Math courses like Algebra, Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Rational/Irrational numbers, Complex Numbers Probability and Statistics, Co-ordinate Geometry, Circle Theorems and a lot more. I am very patient and give straight-forward and concise approaches to problems faced. In case the student does not understand , use other methods and tools which help break it down even further for better understanding. Methods used to enhance and improve the student's academics include, homework, solving of PAST PAPERS and as well assignments. My approach involves testing the student's approach in solving a problem, finding strengths and weaknesses. From here we can know how to gradually push forward. Book a trial lesson with me and have a very interactive/ fun lesson, and you wont regret it. :)

Cambridge MEng Graduate - Math, Physics & Engineering Tutor

I have an MEng in Civil Engineering from Cambridge. I've spent years working through difficult technical material, and I understand how frustrating it is when something just won't click - and how satisfying it is when it finally does. I focus on building real understanding, not just memorizing formulas. I'm patient, I explain things clearly, and I'll keep trying different approaches until the concept makes sense. Sometimes that means drawing diagrams, sometimes it means completely rethinking how to explain something. I tutor: High school: Math 10-12, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry University: Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Statics, Mechanics, Engineering Math Test prep: AP Calculus, AP Physics, IB Math Based in Metro Vancouver, working online.

Subjects: AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Physics, AP Physics C Mechanics, Arduino programming, Calculus, Calculus 2, Differential Equations, IB Mathematics, IB Physics, Linear Algebra, Mathematics, Mechanics, Physics, Pre-Calculus, Statics
