Learn beyond the language: creativity, inspiration and soft skills in French/Russian class!

Hi! My name is Natasha (Miss T) and I am a global nomad. I've lived in 8 countries and travelled to 70. I am an experienced and qualified teacher of languages (PGCE with Distinction; QTS; 4 years of experience in the UK, India and, now, Myanmar). I teach French and Russian across all age groups, language/EAL/ESL backgrounds, as well as to pupils with special educational needs. Each class and each student gets a personalised approach. I graduated with a BA French degree and have lived, studied and worked in Francophone countries for 4 years. Among my other studies, I've completed an MSc in Defence, Development, Diplomacy at Durham University and an MA in Visual and Media Anthropology at HMKW. I have worked in the private sector, international organisations and NGOs, as well as a private researcher among indigenous communities in South Asia. I am a fun-loving person and I use creative and innovative approaches in my teaching, as I believe pupils learn best when engaged. I enjoy transferring cultural knowledge and diving deeper into literature, arts, VR, music and films. While I plan a lesson carefully, I also like flexibility in going beyond the strict lesson rules. I like to challenge my pupils, when I see that they are ready for it, and give them food for thought, teach them soft skills and, most of all, inspire to do more and be more. What I enjoy most is building relationships with my pupils and getting to know their interests! At home, I'm a bookworm, and have around 3000 books in a variety of languages. When I'm not reading, I'm travelling, dancing, painting or out in the sea surfing.

Saint Francis University

Energetic and Health-Minded Special Education Teacher and Company Owner

Hi there! My name is Dani Williams and I am an energetic and health-minded teacher and coach. In 2011, I wrapped up my Division 1 running career and graduated Cum Laude from Saint Francis University with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education. Following this athletic and academic chapter of my life, she moved to Florida to embark on her new teaching career. My passion for educating others connected me to my current occupations as the Owner/Founder of NXT Generation Wellness as well as the Wellness Director for a nonprofit called Adventure for All. I am an advocate of multi-sensory learning and aim to implement a variety of teaching methodologies into my work (both inside and outside of the classroom). It is extremely important to me to teach every child’s abilities, interests, and learning style(s). What has propelled me in this work is the strong belief that all individuals are capable of learning, growing, and becoming their best selves when appropriate resources and supports are set in place. For over a decade, I have worn many professional hats with various responsibilities. This has allowed her to continuously create ways to connect with families who seek improved physical, mental, social, and emotional health. In time, I have come to realize that my professional journey is greatly inspired by the experiences I’ve had within a classroom setting, allowing me to extend these meaningful moments beyond the school walls. Over a decade of teaching elementary math under my belt with multi-sensory strategies and methods! Over a decade of teaching elementary language arts under my belt with multi-sensory strategies and methods! My specialty is working with individuals with learning differences and exceptionalities. I own a health and wellness company for kids, teens, and young adults called NXT Generation. I create most of my own curriculum, lessons, and activities.

United States Air Force Academy, Florida Atlantic University

USAFA grad, MD, and returned Peace Corps Volunteer who loves to teach & coach

I am a 2004 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in philosophy & humanities. After graduation from college, I joined the United States Peace Corps and, for two years, lived in a small village in the sub-Saharan African country of Zambia. While there, I collaborated with Zambian colleagues at the grassroots level to increase rural awareness of preventive health measures to protect against malaria and other common diseases. Upon my return to the US from Africa, I began tutoring, and continued to do so as I worked my way through medical school. Subjects of expertise include standardized test prep, reading & writing, and math. My medical school experience forced me to learn techniques for efficient retention of large volumes of information. I, in turn, teach students these techniques, thus helping them retain what they have learned. I graduated from medical school in 2017 and continued tutoring, now with an additional focus on coaching. I believe this is what makes me unique as a tutor. I help students define goals, establish habits, and create systems that support good habits. We troubleshoot as difficulties maintaining habits arise, and modify our approach accordingly. I love helping students find their talents and translate them into career paths, including helping students find and apply for relevant programs of study, and finding professionals in those fields to advise and inspire. My medical knowledge, specifically my interest in mental health and how it contributes to academic & other success, also informs my work with students. I’ve successfully helped students with interventions like vitamin supplementation, dietary changes, and medication compliance for ADHD and other conditions, and more. I’ve consistently seen big improvements in students’ ability to focus, follow through, and in so doing, feel better about themselves. Please reach out if I can be of help to you or your student!
