English University Student

Hello, my name is Laura. I started tutoring ESL elementary-school students this year, and I would love to continue helping students improve their English skills through online tutoring. I am currently finishing an English and Psychology degree at Wilfrid Laurier. A bit about me: I love cats, crochet, and chocolate! As you can see, I also enjoy alliteration. I use both my passion for English and creativity to help accommodate tutoring sessions to fit the needs to the particular student, as I realize every student learns differently. I am qualified to tutor English for multiple reasons. For one, I have taken multiple English and Psychology courses relevant to teaching the English curriculum, such as: Learning and Developmental Psychology, Infancy and Childhood Psychology, the Fairy Tale, Children’s Literature, Tween Literature and Culture, and Young Adult Literature. I have also demonstrated high academic achievement. My overall GPA average is 9.6, while my Criminology minor GPA is 10.00. A specific academic achievement I have made in university is being on the Dean's Honour Roll in 2019. Relevant Skills: • Proven ability to create and facilitate positive experiential learning environments developed through various academic and community volunteer roles • A history of academic merit and academic excellence as evidenced through both high school and university performance • Excellent oral and written communication skills established through years of daily practice analyzing, summarizing, and creating written materials, conducting research, and effectively communicating ideas and concepts in classroom and group discussions • Strong computer skills applied to the successful completion of post-secondary studies, customer service roles, and community volunteer positions through the regular use of Microsoft Office word and PowerPoint, Zoom, and Google docs

ESL Master Graduated tutor with 8 years of teaching experience

Are you looking to improve your English skills for work, travel, or everyday life? Whether you need help with grammar, conversation, or business English, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. My lessons are designed with your goals in mind, making the learning process fun, engaging, and tailored to your individual needs. With a student-centered approach, I’ve helped learners from various backgrounds reach their language goals, and I’m ready to help you do the same. Whether you're looking to master everyday English or business language skills, let’s work together to make your learning experience both enjoyable and purposeful! I've also got plenty of other interests. I like history, culture, I like learning new languages and I love interacting with people. I'm sociable and highly professional at the same time. My name is Luljeta. I have a bachelor's degree in English and American Language and Culture, and a master's degree in English Teaching. I also hold a TEFL certificate. To me, the basics of teaching and learning a foreign language involve adapting lessons to the students' language level and individual needs, making the lessons fun and purposeful. I use various teaching techniques, starting with TPR (Total Physical Response) and moving on to discussion sessions, games, brainstorming, mind maps, visualization, differentiation, etc. I can also apply different teaching approaches, such as PPP (Presentation, Practice, Production), TTT (Teach, Test, Teach), and TBL (Task-Based Learning). I don't have a preference for any particular approach. I can use them all, as each teaching method depends on the students' actual needs and can be easily interchangeable. My teaching style is primarily student-oriented. I follow a humanistic methodology, not only in teaching but in most aspects of life. However, a significant part of my work is also goal-oriented—I aim to see results from my efforts.
