Learn beyond the language: creativity, inspiration and soft skills in French/Russian class!

Hi! My name is Natasha (Miss T) and I am a global nomad. I've lived in 8 countries and travelled to 70. I am an experienced and qualified teacher of languages (PGCE with Distinction; QTS; 4 years of experience in the UK, India and, now, Myanmar). I teach French and Russian across all age groups, language/EAL/ESL backgrounds, as well as to pupils with special educational needs. Each class and each student gets a personalised approach. I graduated with a BA French degree and have lived, studied and worked in Francophone countries for 4 years. Among my other studies, I've completed an MSc in Defence, Development, Diplomacy at Durham University and an MA in Visual and Media Anthropology at HMKW. I have worked in the private sector, international organisations and NGOs, as well as a private researcher among indigenous communities in South Asia. I am a fun-loving person and I use creative and innovative approaches in my teaching, as I believe pupils learn best when engaged. I enjoy transferring cultural knowledge and diving deeper into literature, arts, VR, music and films. While I plan a lesson carefully, I also like flexibility in going beyond the strict lesson rules. I like to challenge my pupils, when I see that they are ready for it, and give them food for thought, teach them soft skills and, most of all, inspire to do more and be more. What I enjoy most is building relationships with my pupils and getting to know their interests! At home, I'm a bookworm, and have around 3000 books in a variety of languages. When I'm not reading, I'm travelling, dancing, painting or out in the sea surfing.

Duke University

Duke Honors grad for English, writing, speaking, coaching, and college applications

I'm a Duke Honors graduate with a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and Political Science and training in neuroscience from Stanford. Having received the full benefits of a liberal arts education, I can help you get a competitive edge in public speaking, essay writing, college admissions, and career navigation while growing as a person. I have been recognized by a 4x NYT Bestselling Author and one of the world's most powerful women for my work in whole-person development and am part of Duke University's vetted Alumni Career Coaches. I exist to empower people, help them communicate their ideas, and find their place in the world. My students have received offers from Stanford, Harvard, UChicago, Duke, Dartmouth, Berkeley, MIT, and many more. They have noted how I help them be themselves and succeed rather than striving for someone else's notion of "success" at their own long-term expense. I am also a professional Integral Coach®, which means I am trained to embody emotional intelligence and work with you in a present, ethical, and empowering way. I also tutor in English and public speaking. Whether English is a non-primary language or you want to excel in your English and literature classes, I can help. The Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Duke English Department called my work "an academic achievement," and distinguished professors in other departments have recognized my insight and writing abilities. I was also the president of the #1 high school speech and debate team in the U.S. I hope I will shape your tutoring experience to be one where you can reach your goals, find your place in the world, and honor your humanity and inherent value.

Extensive experience at all grade levels

Extensive experience in all grade levels, college and in an after school middle school library setting daily. Past students have described my skills and presentation style as approachable, especially by an ability to frame subjects in the vein of popular culture, making nearly any topic digestible even if once an impenetrable fog. I also strive to address the fundamentals of education via rejection of rote memorization, instead showing students how information personally can have meaning to them, thus making retention all the more easier.
