Oxford graduate with a great work ethic and versatile expertise

I have just finished my MSc in Modern South Asian Studies at Oxford University following a BSc in Economics at Nottingham University, and am looking to participate in some worthwhile tutoring work while I pursue a career in music. I have had over three years of experience in tutoring at a range of levels and have achieved at least A's or A*'s in all the subjects I am offering at the moment. I consider myself an amazing teacher, with an ability to empathise with students and help them fully grasp the foundations regarding the content they are trying to learn. I believe that a good understanding will lead to good grades and I am confident I can instill this in all of my students. Furthermore, I try to leave my students feeling enthusiastic about learning, which provides them with a great sense of accomplishment in completing homeworks. I tend to prefer tutoring students in Maths, English and Science around the West London area. However, I am able to tutor in other areas and I am also willing to travel for sessions longer than 2 hours. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any enquiries, I am always happy to help even if all you require is some advice. Rahul

Learning can be fun!

I am a community-based educator who teaches English to adult students. My students are both ESL learners or people who have never learned to read and write. My expertise is in grammar and vocabulary, though I'm very comfortable teaching a wide-range of the English language. I love working with people and am very accessible, fun, and patient. Let's learn together and have a great experience!

Mariam E.

Queen's University

Chemical Engineering student by day, dedicated STEM tutor by night

Hi! My name is Mariam and I am an experienced tutor specializing in STEM subjects. I am currently studying Chemical Engineering at Queen's University and have been tutoring for 3 years. I have always had a strong passion for teaching and consider it a hobby more than a profession. During my time as a tutor, I have worked with a wide range of students, from elementary schoolers struggling with long division to university students looking to deepen their understanding of thermodynamics. I have been extremely lucky to have had incredible teachers and mentors throughout my education and through them I have adopted essential skills for a tutor such as adaptability and patience. My students appreciate my ability to break down challenging concepts into manageable pieces and ability to connect with them to create a comfortable learning environment where they feel supported and motivated to learn. I usually begin with a diagnostic session to assess the student's understanding and if they are missing prerequisite knowledge. Then, I create a structured lesson plan and session timeline based on the student's strengths and weaknesses. I strive to create a comfortable and engaging learning environment where students feel free to ask questions and explore new ideas. I also provide plenty of practice problems and feedback to help students improve their skills and gain confidence in their abilities. Above all, I believe in empowering students to become independent learners who can tackle new challenges with confidence. I work to instill a love of learning in my students and encourage them to take ownership of their education.
