A computer science professor with years of teaching and tutoring experience.

I have been teaching computer science and math on many levels for more years than I can count now (and with a background in math, you'd assume I can count reasonably high :). This includes tutoring, small groups, formal classroom settings, etc. I hold PhD in computer science from CUNY's Graduate Center and master's in computer and information science from the University of Pennsylvania. My rates vary by time of day, my "peak hours" are more expensive, but if you can meet during my preferred times it will be less expensive. I am very honest, you can ask about any subject and I will tell you exactly how qualified I consider myself to tutor it.

Experienced in Mendelian genetics, molecular bio and some biochem

Former Chegg tutor with 3 years of experience. To my students I'm known for my extreme patience (their words:D) and my knack for simplifying and breaking complicated concepts down into bite-sized pieces so they're easily understandable. I love the process that I get to go through with students where I help them get the hang of whatever they're struggling with and knowing in the end that I helped make it happen. And plus it's always nice to know that I'm trusted to do what I enjoy:) Hmu if you need help with Mendelian genetics or other bio/biochem-related questions!

I am a friendly, patient mathematics tutor with a doctorate in Mathematics

I completed my undergraduate degree in mathematics at the University of Oxford, and then my PhD at Imperial College London. I have been through the experiences my students are having, from school level through the the MAT for university and university admissions interviews. I enjoy maths because it becomes a puzzle you can solve logically, with surprising and beautiful patterns emerging from nothing. My tutoring style is concentrated on the idea that understanding must be built on understanding. To that end I make sure I listen to the students and find where they are confident, and where they need help. If they are struggling with a concept, I find that going back to where they do grasp the ideas and working up from there can have great effect. I also believe that memorizing equations and formulae is much easier if you are shown how they arise, so I try to include that before moving on to problems. I have been tutoring for 10 years, and won the Imperial College Excellence in the Support of Teaching and Learning Award in 2019. I have also attended workshops in the teaching of mathematics, on how to teach mathematics, especially algebra, to school aged students in a successful way. I am also able to provide tuition to support students in their university applications for mathematics by preparing them with transferable skills for the entrance exam process.

English teacher for IELTS / Business English / Technical English / General English

I am experienced at teaching English as a second language and preparing students for Academic IELTS exams. I have taught in the UK and in Abu Dhabi and have tutored students from various countries. I use a structured approach to teaching, which insures that a student's progress is based on the fundamental principles of grammar. I then move forward to developing the student's ability to follow local accents and be able to communicate on an everyday level. Academic writing is also an important part of my curriculum. In addition to teaching English for academia, I also teach Business English and Technical English. My experience has involved preparing corporate students with the ability to communicate on a technical level, in order that they are able to work within the oil/gas & petrochemical industries. I have also tutored business people, allowing them to communicate and conduct their trades within global settings.
