Transformational Math and Algebra Tutor Specializing in Rewiring Students' Brains for Life

Hi there! My name is Ayomide (pronounced eye-yo-ME-day) and I'm an Ohio native with a profound love for math and a gift for translating math to the unique brain language to anyone at any level. I have 5 years of tutoring experience and a background in cognitive neuroscience (the science in how people learn and behave) which fuels my passion for providing the opportunity for every student to finally understand math. I specialize in Algebra and also love offering sessions of elementary and basic math. In my time tutoring, I've taught students from 8 years to 55 years young, autistic students, students with ADHD, students with information retention challenges, students with traumatic brain injuries, and advanced students. All had different goals: pass their final exam to enter nursing school, to finally not fail math, to achieve their GED, to stay ahead in class. With every student I've had, they not only achieved, yet surpassed their goals. How do I do this? I don't focus on simply going over the materials, many can do this, including ChatGPT, that isn't what you're paying a tutor for. The value I provide is human to human connection, using my natural pattern discerning abilities to pinpoint what unique challenges my students carry. This allows me to tailor every session to every individual pupil. From anxiety and overthinking every problem, to chronic mental math dependency, to being more of an artsy type than a logic type, I take the strengths that every student brings to the table and spin it in their favor. I work in the business of changing lives and would love to touch yours. Let's talk!

Hello! My name's Matt. I'm a Princeton and UCLA graduate with nearly two decades of experience in education. Standardized Testing: I've tutored the SAT and ACT for nearly two decades. I've helped hundreds of students improve their scores significantly, often by 200-300 points on the SAT, and by as many as 8-10 points on the ACT. I'm also experienced in tutoring the GRE and the ISEE. Writing Consulting: I have 7 years of experience as a writing consultant for graduate and professional students--PhD students, master's students, and law and medical students. If you're working on a master's thesis, a dissertation, or any other advanced work (including resumes, cover letters, and personal statements), I'm the right choice for you. I've also worked extensively with undergraduates and high-school students on everything from class essays to college admissions essays. In addition to the previous two specialties, I'm also a versatile educator who is experienced in many subjects (both STEM and the humanities) across many age ranges (from kindergarten through adult learners). I have nearly twenty years of experience in education, and will help just about any student in almost any subject area. Vocal Performance, Music Theory, Piano Improv & Music Production

BIO Hi (: I am a music instructor and producer, specializing in vocal performance, music theory, piano improv, & composition. Most of my free time is spent writing songs and producing them, working in Logic X and ProTools. My parents bought a standup piano when I was four, and at age six they found lessons for a few months through a family friend. I continued on my own and played by ear until I was a teenager and started to pursue music academically. Raised in a bilingual (french & english) household, I worked my way through college as a pastry chef. Passionate about food, travel and the arts, I’m always looking for opportunities to collaborate and connect. Please don't be shy, message for more information about private lessons, group exclusives, collaborations, and community networking any time! APPROACH Lessons with me are student-centric, focusing on classical foundation in all fields and placing strong emphasis on accommodating individual students' specific ambitions. Strong stage presence, deeper understanding of blending & breath support, and a sharper ear for intuitive learning are all skills you can expect to develop with me. Song motivated lesson plans, finding a way of having a good time, and making music in every lesson are tenets I hold near and dear. LESSON POLICIES Reschedules and cancellations for private lessons require a minimum of 24 hours advance notice.

It is more important to understand than to memorize!

Deep understanding in math grades 9-12 and more. I will provide more than the typical regurgitation of formulas and steps, and provide a deeper understanding of what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how to do it in order to provide an actual understanding of the topics.

Prioritizes the process of learning over the results

Being a student myself, I find teaching others helps strengthen my core knowledge. This in turn has given me the opportunity to see education from both sides of the lens where I better understand how to help students with what makes them understand the material to a greater degree. I have years of experience in various subjects including computer science and mathematics. From C++ and Python programming to Linear Algebra and beyond, my fundamentals in each subject is strong, allowing me to efficiently help students learn these subjects as well. By using a clear and steady method of teaching, my students are able to arrive at the solutions to their problems in a concise manner.

Mathematics that finally makes sense. No Memorizing, No Panic - Expert Guidance from an Associate Professor (PhD in Astrophysics)

You’re not bad at math. You’re just tired of trying to understand a language no one ever really taught you to speak. What if the formulas finally connected? What if every “I don’t get it” turned into “wait… that actually makes sense”? What if exams stopped feeling like traps and started feeling like challenges you knew how to handle? That’s the shift we create here. You’ll be learning with an Associate Professor and PhD in Astrophysics — but this isn’t a lecture hall. It’s a space where math is untangled patiently, logically, and with the kind of precision that comes from teaching IB, IGCSE, A-level and AP students for years. No shortcuts. No copying homework answers. No emergency revision sessions at midnight. Instead, you’ll learn to think mathematically — to read a problem, take it apart, and solve it with confidence rather than luck. If you’re a parent, this is what you’ll start to notice at home: Not “Can you help me solve this?” but “I think I know how this works — let me show you.” That moment — from panic to understanding — is the whole point of every lesson. The method is simple, but powerful: build the foundations, show the logic behind every step, and train your mind to recognize patterns instead of memorizing formulas. Mistakes are allowed. Questions are expected. Effort is essential. And because respect goes both ways — your time matters. Lessons start on time, the connection is reliable, and you get full focus. You’ll always know what we’re working toward and how close you are to getting there. So whether you’re aiming for a 7 in IB Math, an A* in A-levels, preparing for AP Calculus, or simply want math to stop feeling like a wall you keep running into — this is where it begins to make sense. Ready? Let’s make math something you can trust.
