Hello, my name is Brandon. I am currently pursuing my bachelors degree in political science at Miami University. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbus State Community College with an associate of arts in political science. I have worked with mostly high school students but I have worked with college students as well. I tutor a variety of subjects such as algebra, political science, chemistry etc. I have in total about 4 years of tutoring experience with 2 of those being during my high school years which I successfully tutored my peers. I generally teach by giving a thorough review of the content that the student wants to be taught on, I then use increasingly difficult problems to check for proficiency in the subject. If a student gets a problem wrong and does not understand why, I go through step by step so they can discover not only what they got wrong; but also what they can do for future problems. I look forward to working with you! Message me for testimonials/reviews from previous clients.

In high school, I tutored my peers on a weekly basis as a member of the National Honor Society. During this time, I realized I was passionate about helping and guiding those struggling to learn some of my favorite subjects. With this passion in mind, I enrolled in a Service-Learning class at Northeastern University, which included weekly service in the community as a class requirement. For my service, I created and taught biology lessons to 3rd-grade students participating in an after-school program. Being able to see the student's sense of accomplishment when they understood what was being taught and realizing how cool science could be further solidified my love for teaching. In my senior year of college, I became a Teaching Assistant for an Introduction to Biology course. In this role, I taught weekly biology lab sessions and guided students as they completed their assignments. I also held office hours where students could come and ask questions about course material, lab procedures, and their assignments.

Hi! My name is Justin Thomas, and I'm super excited to help you get your SAT/PSAT score to new heights! I started studying for the SAT in the summer before 11th grade to prep for the PSAT as well. My goal was to be able to finish taking my SAT in 11th grade so that I didn't have to worry or study for it during college application season. Using my methods, I was able to receive a 1470 on the PSAT to eventually become a National Merit Finalist. A couple of months later, I was able to achieve a 1550 on my SAT. I found that there are a lot of ways that the SAT tries to trick you, and that just going into the test with a different mindset can make a difference in your score. As a result, I've come up with my own method to approach and study for the test that can help you improve quickly in a relatively short amount of time. In addition to my test-taking success, I have a passion for teaching. During high school, I tutored my fellow students in math, and I was also part of a tutoring program for middle school kids. I took 14 AP courses, including Calculus AB and Calculus BC, showcasing my strong academic background and expertise in math. I have a flexible schedule and will respond quickly to inquiries. I'm excited to work with students of all ages and abilities. Feel free to reach out to me for SAT tutoring, and I hope to see you soon!

- To all new students: first 20 minute session is completely FREE! Greetings! I'm a second-year student at the University of Virginia, and I'm excited to offer my tutoring services to help you excel in a variety of subjects, including humanities and math. As for my education and experience, I had a weighted 4.9 GPA in high school and an unweighted 3.9 in college, and I scored a 34 on my ACT. I shadowed a speech-language pathologist where I learned proper teaching techniques for young students that struggle with language and comprehension. Additionally, I tutored all throughout high school. As a student at UVA, I understand the challenges you may face in your coursework, whether it’s in psychology, history, writing, or math. I've had the privilege of assisting students in these subjects and have developed effective teaching techniques to make complex concepts more understandable. My approach to tutoring is engaging and tailored to your individual needs. I believe that learning should be a rewarding experience, and I'm here to provide the support and guidance you need to reach your academic goals. I'm patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping you succeed. Whether you're struggling with understanding historical events, crafting compelling essays, or tackling math problems, I'm here to make the learning process enjoyable and effective. My go-to methods are making outlines to learn the main ideas of a topic and working through practice problems together to overcome any challenges you're facing in your studies. Contact me today to schedule your first session, and let's make your learning journey both productive and enjoyable. I look forward to helping you achieve mastery in your chosen subjects!
