Postdoctoral scholar in History and History of Science

I am postdoctoral researcher at the University of Naples and guest affiliated at Amsterdam University. I am trained as a Philosopher (BA; MA, Pisa University), Historian of Science (MPhil, Cambridge University) and Historian (PhD, Cambridge University). I completed my PhD in autumn 2017 and held two postdoctoral positions since then, at the British School at Rome (linked to the British Academy) in Rome and the Scaliger Institute in Leiden (NL). I just moved to Paris to improve my French and write my monograph and several articles. I am passionate about the history of science, but also the history of economic thought and political economy, especially at the time of the Enlightenment and the Napoleonic period. I am also curious about museums and collections, and about practices of collecting more generally. I have lectured at conferences in the UK, US and Europe, and gained some university teaching experience in Cambridge UK (at a university level) as well as at school-level in Italy (private lessons). I live with my partner with whom I speak four languages (English, Italian, Portuguese and French). I can offer classes in Italian (academic and conversational), English (academic and conversational) and help you revise your essays (A levels, but also university level) in subjects such as history and philosophy in order to improve your arguments and writing style. My rate depends on the kind of service you need (20 to 40 USD p.h. with discount above a certain number of classes).

GMAT and SAT Coach with over 15 years of experience teaching Top Scorers.

I've been a Mathematics and English teacher since 1993. I taught in High School (Formal School) for the first 15 years of my career and then moved on to Test Prep with The Princeton Review in 2008. I was soon awarded my Master Trainer Certification in 2011 by none other than John Fulmer, The Princeton Review's Content Director for the GMAT and the GRE. I do owe my experience with Test Prep to The Princeton Review's Courses, (GMAT, GRE, SAT, ACT, and LSAT) which I taught for over 15 years. I am now a Freelance Test Prep Coach and specialize in tutoring students for the GMAT and the SAT. (I also teach the ACT if and when required.) Test Prep for a test taker involves a lot more than just learning content tested. It has a lot to do with disciplining thought processes and enhancing objectivity. The test taker has to be trained to work efficiently with accuracy within prescribed timelines. He or she needs to come up with logically deduced solutions to problems while keeping calm and focused through stressful situations. Therefore, my job as a trainer is akin to that of a coach on the field - mentoring and perfecting through regular drilling all the skill sets a test-taker will need to ace his or her test! I am thus very well equipped to holistically prepare students for their standardized tests and have countless top scorers as my students over these many years of my teaching the SAT and the GMAT for the Princeton Review. My priority is quality, and I strive for perfection in whatever I do. Do reach out to me if you need to boost your scores in either the GMAT or the SAT/ACT. I will be happy to help. Looking forward to working with you Thank You! Best Regards Merrily Tobin

Italian and Humanities Tutor here to help you improve your Language skills

Hello everyone, I'm Isabella from Italy! I'm graduated in Foreign Languages and I have a Master's degree in International Relations, too. My areas of specialization are Nordic Languages, English and Italian and during my university career I had the opportunity to improve my teaching skills. Moreover, I've practiced what I've learned, infact I've been a tutor for 7 years, helping many people with my native language (Italian) and pupils with English. My lessons are usually very diversified, because it all dipends on each student's needs. I can help them with grammar, vocabulary, writing, speaking, comprehension and translation, but in addiction to all this I can teach also many useful, interesting issues about literature, art, culture, history, geography, philology, current events and so on. According to me the best way to learn a language is to fully understand the many matters that revolve around it. No language is an island!
