-First 15 minute session is free! We can figure out your needs and go from there!- I'm a middle school English teacher in lovely Richmond, Virginia, looking to help the next generation of students develop a passion for language and literature! I have an unparalleled amount of patience and understanding due to teaching 7th and 8th graders and having a toddler of my own. My focus is on reading comprehension, writing, spelling, grammar, and communication, but I want students to ENJOY the subject and find ways to express their thoughts and feelings about their work. If reading and writing seems boring to you, we simply need to find a way to incorporate your interests in it. If you need help in a certain area, need help writing or editing a term paper, or need help unlocking the hidden depths of literature, I'm here to help!

Hello there! I'm Kaley, a third-year MD/MPH student with a B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. I successfully completed all prerequisite courses for the MCAT, including biology, biochemistry, physics, and chemistry, earning straight As in each. Thanks to my effective preparation techniques and study style, I achieved an impressive score of 521 on the MCAT, consistently scoring 130+ on all sections. Recognizing the comprehensive nature of MCAT preparation, I am here to offer personalized sessions to help you create a tailored study plan that suits your unique needs and provide tutoring in all MCAT subjects. I was also employed by my undergraduate school, UCLA, to tutor pre-med courses (biology, English, and chemistry). So, I feel comfortable acting as a general biology, chemistry, and biochemistry tutor through college-level courses. After completing my MCAT studies, I recognized how difficult the test was. Now, I want to help other students excel in the MCAT by sharing the mistakes I made and tips I learned while studying for the test. I have a philosophy of tutoring that tailors my approach to my students' needs, and therefore welcome their feedback. I also welcome students who want help or guidance on the medical school application or on Step 1 preparation. I am easy to reach and will respond within 24 hours. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or schedule a lesson! Looking forward to meeting you! With my expertise and experience, I am dedicated to supporting your educational journey and helping you excel.

I have always had a knack for writing and performing, hence why that ended up being my major here at college. I used to teach children how to read as well as help other students with their essays. I am incredibly patient and want whoever I'm working with to feel comfortable and excel in the subject their struggling with. As someone who has struggled with her learning disabilities herself, I can help others work through that and feel confident in their abilities. As I am currently enrolled in college, all tutoring sessions will have to be over FaceTime unless another option is specified.

My passion for teaching began in the middle of my high school career when I first started tutoring my peers in math. She was struggling in Pre-Calculus, and I decided to help her (obviously, not out of self-interest ). As I began my tutoring sessions, my passion for teaching began to grow since I really liked seeing my students understand and interpret difficult concepts and incorporate them as one of their own. After seeing this happen multiple times, their joy became mine, and I wanted to spread the joy of learning to other people as well. I know that learning can be difficult and hard at times, but with a friend or a mentor to guide you, it can lessen that load and make this journey more bearable and even rewarding at times. To explain a little bit about myself, I graduated from Pensacola Christian Academy and went straight into Birmingham-Southern College, which is a small liberal arts college located in the town of Birmingham, Alabama. Because of my high score on my SAT and my status as an international student, I received a full-tuition scholarship that was exclusively meant for international students, and after spending one year as a freshman, I got into a position of a Resident Advisor and basically got myself into a full-ride scholarship with no fees to worry about. I tutored all math-related subjects (arithmetic, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, and some higher mathematics courses), but I especially enjoy teaching SAT prep and high school / middle school mathematics since I had the most experience tutoring in these subjects. I think my teaching philosophy is to connect with my student first, and then try to figure out what problems they are facing so that they can understand and overcome the obstacle that lies ahead. Since I know that all people think differently and in their own style, I will match my teaching style to yours, and I will do my best to work alongside you to figure out what is the best solution to solve your particular problem.

Solving problems using computer programs, whether professionally or as a hobby, has always provided me with a great feeling of satisfaction. I have been a youth baseball coach (ages 8-14) for the past 20 years as well as serving on the board of a non-profit youth sports organization. I manage the umpire program for this organization which requires me to find, hire and schedule teenagers as umpires to fill the assignments for all the games in a season.
