Hello! I'm Zainab, a passionate and experienced mathematics tutor with over 7 years of teaching expertise. Since 2022, I have also been actively involved in online teaching, working with students across various academic levels-from primary and middle school to college and university. I have experience of teaching Turkey, USA, UK, Canada, Australia, etc and other states students. I truly enjoy helping learners overcome their fear of math and develop real confidence in their abilities. My love for teaching comes from seeing students transform their struggles into success. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading about innovative teaching strategies, solving logic puzzles, and spending time in nature. I believe that a calm mind and a curious spirit go hand in hand with academic growth, and I aim to create that balance in every session I teach.

Tutor of school / higher mathematics, physics, and programming. I can teach in Russian, Ukrainian, and in English. One-time or long-term assistance is possible (homeworks, tests, etc.)

I prepare: 1. students for tests and exams in the following subjects: discrete mathematics, linear algebra, analytical geometry, mathematical analysis (calculus), differential equations, complex analysis, functional analysis, operational calculus, probability theory, numerical methods, operations research; basics of programming in C/C++/C#, Java, Python. 2. school students for different kind of exams. About me: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with honors. Graduated from ZL №105 with a major in mathematics / informatics. Scored 200 points on the NMT in mathematics. Was a prize-winner of regional and provincial Olympiads in mathematics, informatics, and the Ukrainian language. Successfully completed a programming course in C/C++. Successfully completed the course “Basics of Java Programming and Modeling of Physical Processes”. Received a 3rd-degree diploma for winning the project competition “Computer Modeling of a Physical Experiment” (in Java). Awarded a commendation for special achievements in informatics research. Participated three times in the All-Ukrainian Collegiate Programming Contest ICPC (2022, 2023, and 2024). !!! I am quite open-minded when it comes to educational process, but I have 1 rule: A lesson canceled or rescheduled less than 6-8 hours before its start is paid in full. If I reschedule or cancel in this manner, the next lesson will be free for you

Breaking down complex ideas into simple, intuitive, and engaging explanations. With advanced university studies in Mathematics and Computer Science, I bring a highly logical and structured approach to learning. Whether I am guiding early learners and high schoolers from Grade 1 through Grade 12 (K-12) with foundational English, helping students master conversational and academic languages like IsiXhosa and IsiZulu, or assisting university undergraduates with advanced modules like Pre-Calculus, Linear Algebra and discrete Mathematics, my goal is to build long-term confidence. My approach to teaching is deeply personalized, interactive, and encouraging. I adapt every lesson to fit your specific goals, pace, and learning style so that difficult topics finally click. ✨ Why students and parents choose me: 1.Comprehensive English Support: Catering beautifully to school learners from Grade 1 all the way up to Grade 12 to build strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills. 2.Versatile STEM Expertise: Seamlessly bridging the gap between early literacy and advanced university STEM modules like programming and higher math. 3.Interactive Lessons: Utilizing modern digital tools and a graphic drawing tablet to map out steps, edit text, and solve formulas visually in real time. 4.Personalized Pace: Instruction tailored exactly to your specific school curriculum requirements, exam prep goals, or homework roadblocks. 5.Encouraging Environment: A patient, supportive space designed to reduce school stress and unlock your full potential. If you're ready to stop struggling and start excelling, I'd be happy to help you make your target subjects your ultimate strength. Let's get started!

PhD in Biomedical Engineering (U of T) — patient, plain-language tutoring in math, physics, stats & engineering

I'm Nilou, a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, with undergraduate and master's degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering. I tutor university and high-school math, physics, and statistics, plus engineering coursework, signals and systems, MATLAB, Python, and intro machine learning and data analysis. I also help with GRE quant and general research and study skills. My whole approach is to explain hard ideas in plain language and meet you exactly where you are. I don't rush, I don't make you feel behind, and I find the way of explaining that finally makes it click for you. Years of research and mentoring taught me that almost anything becomes clear with the right analogy and a bit of patience. Sessions are online and flexible. Tell me what you're working on and where you're stuck, and we'll build from there.

University of Manitoba

Former University Instructor Specializing in Discrete Mathematics and Proof Writing

Does discrete mathematics feel completely different from the mathematics you studied before university? Many capable students understand the definitions but do not know how to begin a proof, choose an appropriate proof technique, or turn their reasoning into a solution that earns full marks. That transition is my specialty. I taught mathematics at the University of Manitoba from 2005 through 2023, including extensive experience teaching first-year discrete mathematics. My graduate work focused on graph theory and combinatorics. Because I have taught and graded this material at the university level, I understand both sides of the problem: how students typically get stuck and what an instructor expects in a complete, well-written proof. I can help with propositional and predicate logic, quantifiers and negation, sets, functions and relations, direct proof, contrapositive and contradiction, mathematical induction, counting and combinatorics, the pigeonhole principle, recurrence relations, elementary number theory, graph theory, and mathematical writing. A typical session begins by identifying the precise point of confusion. We clarify the relevant definitions, select a strategy, and work through an example together. You then try a related problem while I provide guidance and immediate feedback. I teach students how to reason through problems rather than simply supplying answers. I do not complete graded assignments, tests, or examinations on a student's behalf. University of Manitoba MATH 1240 students are especially welcome, and I work with university discrete mathematics students throughout Canada and internationally. I currently accept a small number of online students.

Subjects: Discrete Math, Graph Theory, Logic
