Living Book History Courses

Are you tired of dry, dull textbooks? Do you want to inspire your child with a love for their schoolwork but see that the majority of history materials just aren't doing it? I hear you. Which is why I've developed my own materials, which teach history using classic children's books. As an Oxford University graduate who went straight into a career in teaching, I know just how influential a great book can be on a young mind. A love of reading was a big part of what inspired my own love of learning, and I have seen it inspire my students too. This being so, I’m excited to draw back the curtain on the fictional worlds we love to see the historical context behind them.

Future Elementary School Teacher

I am currently in my final year of my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Saint Louis University. I have a background in Special Education as well. After completing my Bachelor's I plan to teach at the Elementary level while getting certified as a Reading Specialist. My strongest suit is writing and reading. I am a writing and reading enthusiast! My experience in writing ranges from proofreading, editing, outlining, citations, and brainstorming. I provide thorough feedback and recommendations via Google Docs for essays.       My experience in reading ranges from expressive language, story analysis, context clues, digraphs/syllables, and phonological awareness. My overall goal is to help you find the joy in reading while understanding the context in a story!        My process is simple. First, I conduct a video chat interview to understand your needs and goals.  Once scheduled, our first session is a trial session. During our session, I will do an assessment and later create an individualized tutoring plan.       I am a visual teacher and think visuals, props, and animation is crucial to understanding difficult concepts!

JLPT N1 Japanese language tutor

Hello, my name is Michael. I have been learning Japanese for almost a decade. In 2017 I passed the JLPT N1 exam. For as long as I can remember I have been a fan of Anime and Manga, and at some point, watching and reading it in Japanese became my goal. Having learned more than 2000 Chinese characters and thousands of words, I now feel confident that I can teach other people. As a long-time student of Japanese, I know the specific hurdles that learners face. I can explain difficult topics in a way that is easy to understand and teach you effective self-learning strategies and techniques so that you can learn in between our lessons as well. Whether you love anime and manga like I do, or you want to learn Japanese for another reason, I can confidently guide you in mastering this beautiful language.
