Reading and Writing are What I Love And Teach!

I am a passionate logophile, who loves nothing better than to discuss and teach grammar and literature with people. Learning parts of speech, sentence structure, and composition techniques doesn't have to be a stressful undertaking! I can remove the panic and frustration from your battle with words and turn your studies into an interesting, if not fascinating journey of discovering the power of writing. When I'm not scribbling down story ideas or reading countless books, I enjoy playing mandolin or hanging out with my Muscovy ducks. I enjoy teaching grammar, English, ESL, literature, as well as other related subjects for grades K-12. PLEASE NO ADULT OR COLLEGE STUDENTS. Please note! I will not accept requests for assignment help where a student asks me to write his or her entire essay, response to literature, or any other written work. I will write alongside or do revision/ final draft work on students' projects. However, to give a pupil a finished product that came 100% from my pen only is professionally and ethically wrong in my viewpoint. I am a teacher and peer reviewer, not a writer for hire or an accomplice to plagiarism. Thanks!

English Language Learning, Proofreading, and Writing Support for Women and Girls (Ages 14+) | Serving ESL, EFL, ESOL, ELL, MLL, and Native Speakers

Hi! I’m Alyssa. I’m an experienced tutor, certified proofreader, and skilled editor who loves connecting with others and helping build their confidence with English. I work with women and girls ages 14 and up, both English language learners (ESL, EFL, ESOL, ELL, MLL) and native speakers alike. Whether you’re learning English, need a peer to proofread a paper, or just want some help understanding a writing assignment, I’m here to help. Since 2016, I’ve served students from a variety of backgrounds. I’ve taught writing, grammar, and spelling at the elementary, middle, and high school levels; coached college students through writing assignments; and tutored adult English language learners from Egypt and Mexico. (Fun fact: English is my native language, but I am also learning Spanish and Arabic.) I foster a welcoming, engaging environment so you can comfortably learn and grow, and I use different approaches to present and explain concepts to deepen understanding. Because every person is unique, I tailor each session to your needs, strengthening and encouraging you to help you succeed and enjoy learning. If you’re seeking to learn English, our lessons will equip you to use English naturally in everyday situations. You’ll learn vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar and gain real-world practice through conversation, reading, and writing. I’ll also use pictures and visual aids to make new concepts easier to understand and remember. If you need proofreading help, I’ll work with you to spot and fix any grammar, punctuation, formatting, spelling, or word choice issues, helping your writing shine. I offer a free 15 minute introduction session, so if you have questions, would like to meet me, or want to start lessons, message me and we'll get scheduled. I look forward to working with you and wish you all the best on your learning journey!

Need help with math, language, logic, science, or technology? I'm here for you!

Aloha, friend! My name is Lucas Jarrett, and I’m an online tutor! If I had to characterize my approach to helping people learn in simple terms, I would say that I believe education is a matter of teaching adaptability. The ability to adapt, or the capacity to change, is the fundamental skill of learning all things. We must always be prepared to adopt new ways of being. When we study life, we study the infinite; and when we study the infinite, our mindsets must be similar, or else we will not see everything that we could have seen. To realize that learning is the art of changing is to begin learning everything more easily. My primary goal is to help my students see and apply this awareness when studying anything they hope to do well. I have professional experience teaching many subjects, including arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, philosophy, biology, history, psychology, music, billiards, writing, research, literature, English, Java, Python, HTML, CSS, SQL, and more. Furthermore, I’m happy to offer insight into cognitive habits that often bring academic trouble, such as perfectionism, motivation, inattention, depression, and anxiety. I do not limit my educational strategies to any single methodology; I believe that every individual has a unique path in life, and I therefore work to be responsive to the specific, immediate needs of my students. Context is everything. If I'm trying to help a student become a better reader and writer, I may recommend that we explore good literature together; if I am helping someone prepare for a test in geometry, good practice problems and instructional resources will likely be part of the process. I tutor many subjects not listed here, so feel free to ask about anything! If I know how to help in a reasonable timeframe, I will help! 🙂 Note: I offer discounts to people who have financial need or pay in bulk. Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss options if my posted rate is beyond your budget!

I have been tutoring for the past 7 years, and am an avid reader, writer and learner. My focus is mainly on essay writing, with a secondary emphasis on English. With clients, I aim to shape the way they are able to structure and articulate their thoughts, as I believe anyone can write well and effectively if the right focus is developed and techniques used. I help students with things like mechanics, formatting, and structure. Whether a research paper, college admissions essay, or just a creative writing assignment, I have a proven record of success with students of all ages and learning styles. I view writing as a craft, and I tailor my teaching style based on this.

*Currently Accepting New Students!* Friendly and Passionate English/Creative Writing/ESL Tutor with 8+ Years in Creative Writing.

Hello! I'm Yona, and I graduated from the University of Toronto, specializing in English/Creative Writing/Education! I have always loved teaching English to others by using the most fun and engaging methods. I was an AP English student in high school and am familiar with writing expectations for formal and close-reading analysis essays. I also have over 8 years of experience in creative writing and self-web publishing. When I teach, I love providing my students with feedback on their work and watching them absorb and improve the next time. I have experience teaching writers from various age groups, cultural backgrounds, writing styles, interests, and skills over the past 4 years. I have also interned at various Japanese high schools and kindergartens as an English teacher, so I have experience teaching English as a second language as well. I strongly believe that there is no right or wrong in writing. It is all about how you explore and express your creativity and ideas. I am simply here to guide you through the technical details to help you better express such ideas and grow as the individual writer you aspire to be! If you feel that we'll be a good fit, please feel free to message me! I look forward to our time together and working with you! :)
