Also, I tend to check out some fun and entertaining videos, and educational ones as well, especially related to different Math topics. I can describe myself as a very helpful tutor and a well-versed one at that! I am helpful because I am more than open in providing assistance to everyone willing to learn from me. I am also well-versed because I am an expert in teaching Math, especially algebra, calculus and statistics. With my God-given intelligence, I can share everything I know in terms of Math. I know that a lot of people are having difficulties when it comes to Math, so if you are one of them, then you can send me a message anytime. I have helped hundreds of students boost their homework and test scores! These results come from hundreds of hours of experience breaking down intricate concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps. In my lessons, I use targeted prompting questions to guide students toward independently understanding the steps needed to solve problems. I excel at quickly identifying areas of weakness, such as time management, science, math skills, statistics, etc., and transforming them into strengths through tailored guided practice exercises. I previously worked as a professional high school and college tutor while attending the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. My teaching journey has been equally diverse and rewarding for the past 6 years. I’ve guided students one-on-one through the challenges of Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Statistics, R Studio, Chemistry, Ecology, Biology, and Environmental Statistics, tailoring my approach to individual needs. Additionally, I’ve led interactive sessions for classes of 15 to 30 students, encompassing both undergraduate and graduate levels. These groups, ages 14 and older, brought a variety of perspectives that deepened my ability to engage, inspire, and adapt. When I have free time, you’ll usually find me doing what I love most—tutoring! My lessons are fun, interactive, and designed to make learning an enjoyable experience. From the very first session, your student will experience the thrill of success and gain the confidence to tackle challenges head-on. I hold a Master of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Statistics, both from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay.

Weill Cornell Medicine, University of Oxford, Northwestern University
Hi! I’m Tamara. I'm currently a Neuroscience PhD candidate at Weill Cornell Medicine, with a strong academic background in biology and the life sciences. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical and Therapeutic Neuroscience from the University of Oxford, where I graduated with distinction, and a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from Northwestern University, where I graduated summa cum laude. Throughout my academic training, I found that the classes I learned the most from were those where complex biological concepts were explained clearly and intuitively. That experience strongly shapes the way I approach tutoring today. I have experience tutoring middle and high school students in biology in one-on-one settings, working with students across American, IB, and IGCSE curricula. I’ve helped students strengthen their understanding of core topics, prepare for exams, and build effective study strategies, while also supporting learners with ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. I focus on meeting students where they are, identifying areas of confusion, and breaking down material into manageable, logical steps so students feel confident rather than overwhelmed. When tutoring, I aim to make biology feel approachable and engaging. I typically introduce topics conceptually before moving into details, visuals, and practice questions, adjusting my approach based on each student’s learning style and goals. I want the students I work with to not only improve their grades, but also feel more comfortable asking questions and thinking critically about the material. I am easy to reach, responsive, and happy to work with families to ensure each student gets the support they need. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson!

Hello, my name is Elifsu. I am from Istanbul, Turkey but I am currently living in St. Andrews, UK. In the last 4 years, I lived in Toronto, Paris, and in the South of France at different boarding schools. I did my IB diploma at Sainte Victoire International School (SVIS). I took Chemistry HL and got a 7 in Paper 2 and an overall 6. I passed my IB examinations in May 2022 and I am currently a first year (undergraduate) biochemistry student at the University of St. Andrews. Throughout high school, I volunteered to tutor my friends, other high schoolers for IGCSEs and IB. As I I’ve been to different international schools, I have a good understanding of different curricula such as American Diploma, OSSD, A-Levels and more, however I am most comfortable with IB. I love tutoring and helping others understand chemistry, as not too long ago, I was in the sme situation as my students. I love to encourage my students to achieve the best version of themselves, which is why in the first lesson I really want to hear about the student’s expectations. And what the “best version” or “best grade” means for them. As a Chemistry HL tutor, who has been through the IB diploma just months ago, I can also provide tailored details on what the IB examiners want in the exams and help with the IA. I’ve also done multiple lab reports & in university I am continuing to do them, so I can help with finding a research question, the right procedure and methodology as for me, it is important that my students enjoy chemistry rather than simply focusing on a grade.

Standardised tests can be among the most intimidating challenges every student has to face throughout their academic career. Not only are they an essential part of any university application, but often applicants are also given little to no indication as to how they should prepare for them. Fortunately though, standardised tests like the GRE have one element to student’s advantage that most other examinations do not. The scores students achieve are directly proportional to the number of problems they solve before taking the test. This means that, no matter the starting point, it is always possible to make significant improvements. You just need to have a little patience and have the right method. I started off giving one to one private tutoring on a range of subjects back in high school, just helping out the kids in the years below me, and then began to take it more seriously during my years at university. Now, after preparing for the GRE myself, taking it twice, achieving a score of 332 and using that score to receive offers from universities such as Cambridge and Bocconi, I feel I have much to offer to students either approaching the test for the first time or preparing to give it one last go. I will create a personalised program based on your starting level of performance in GRE simulations and the amount you need your score to increase by for you to reach your objectives. To do this I will help you find the prep method most suited to you, starting from a few different study styles I tried out myself. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have, so feel free to reach out!

Hello! My name is Mary, and I am passionate about bringing your ideas to life by helping you improve the clarity, flow, and style of your writing! I love all things related to writing — I have written short stories almost my entire life and am working on my first science-fiction novella. Along with creative writing, I wrote numerous essays during my university years. My strong writing skills helped me succeed academically, as I graduated with high distinction last year. I love helping others, and bringing my writing expertise to support people in their academic and creative pursuits is a passion of mine! As a peer academic coach at my university for a mandatory course focused on philosophy from the Enlightenment to the present day, I prepared students for writing essays in university by explaining the assignment instructions, reviewing and discussing their essays, and directing them to helpful writing resources. I enjoyed passing down my knowledge to these first-year students so much that I applied to become a writing tutor at my university. As a writing tutor, I helped students from all years improve the clarity, concision, and persuasiveness of their academic papers, scholarship proposals, and cover letters. I loved both these positions so much that I have continued to tutor high school and university students in writing to help them succeed in their academic, professional, and creative lives. and have seen massive improvements in the quality of their writing while embracing their unique voice to craft persuasive essays, strong professional documents, and compelling stories. If you choose me as a tutor, I can help you master: - Academic papers/essays - APA, MLA, and Chicago style citations - Fiction and non-fiction prose - Resumés and cover letters - Scholarship proposals - Paragraph organization, sentence structure, word choice, and grammar I look forward to boosting your confidence in your writing abilities!
