I have 3 years of experience as a nursing tutor, where I have provided one-on-one and group sessions both in-person and online to over 500 students. I have tutored subjects such as A&P, Med/Surg, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Fundamentals, Critical Care, Maternal/Newborn, Pediatrics, and more, as well as preparing for the NCLEX, TEAS, and HESI exams. Prior to becoming a nursing tutor, I was a Peer Mentor for two years where I mentored over 250 first-year college students one-on-one about social, emotional, and academic issues they were facing. Throughout my journey of undergraduate studies, I started offering one-on-one and group tutoring sessions through a university based learning platform and the Future Vision Science Academy. These sessions encouraged problem-solving skills and taught students how to master concepts in chemistry. As a chemistry teacher, I used a variety of teaching methods to keep the students engaged and interested. I often start with a demonstration or hands-on activities to pique the students' curiosity and then lecture on the relevant concepts through a series of practice problems and activities to help them solidify their understanding. Ultimately, my goal is to ensure the student has confidence in meeting course expectations. I connect with students and sympathize with their struggles because I have had to go through the same thing that they go through.
