4.0 Biology Major & MCAT Content Creator | Specializing in Organic Chem & Gen Bio
Hi! I'm a Biology major at UK, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and preparing for medical school. I know firsthand how tough foundational science and math courses can be, but I also know how to master them. I earned a perfect 5 on my AP Chemistry and AP Math exams, and I received the UK/BCTC Faculty Recognition Award for top mastery in Organic Chemistry I. Beyond my own classes, I am passionate about teaching. I run @MCATDecoded on TikTok, where I break down complex Organic Chem and Biology concepts into simple, high-yield videos for pre-med students. I bring that same clear, patient, and engaging approach to my 1-on-1 tutoring. Whether you want to ace Organic Chem, understand statistics, or just build better study habits, I'm here to help you get the grades you want!

Experienced Organic Chemistry Tutor
Chemistry is an overwhelming and frustrating subject for many students. I specialize in breaking down concepts and explaining them in an understandable way. Recognizing that everyone does not learn a subject in the same manner, I constantly adapt my teaching style to meet the individual needs of my students. My role as a tutor is to help my students gain the self-confidence they need to learn the material and attain their educational goals. I have several years of tutoring experience in Organic Chemistry. My students have ranged from science majors to business majors. Many have plans to attend medical or veterinary school. Quite a number have been in nursing or health science programs. As a graduate student, I was a teaching assistant for General Chemistry, undergraduate Organic Chemistry lab, and advanced Organic Chemistry lab. During my years of undergraduate and graduate research, as well as my time spent as a postdoctoral researcher and research scientist, I supervised undergraduates starting their own research careers. I want to be a beneficial resource for my students, and I welcome any materials or suggestions they may have. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule an appointment. I will always give a prompt reply to any inquiry.

Elissar A.

Honours Biology Graduate | Math & Science Tutor
My favourite part about tutoring is turning "I have no idea what I’m doing” into "wait… that actually makes sense". My name is Elissar, and I’m an Honours Biology graduate from York University, where I took courses in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, math, and other sciences. I'm also an in-person volunteer tutor and have worked with students with different strengths, struggles, and ways of learning. I’ve been through the long study days, stressful exams, busy schedules, and difficult courses myself, so I know that understanding the material is only part of it. Knowing how to study, manage your time, and prepare for an exam matters too. I’m pretty easygoing and patient, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, even if they think the question is "obvious". If something doesn’t make sense the first time, I'll try explaining in a different and easier way. At the end of the day, I want to make school feel a little less stressful and help you become more confident in what you’re doing.

Experienced Organic Chemistry Tutor
Hi guys. I am a Ph.D synthetic organic chemist with over 10 years experience in teaching organic chemistry courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level. I’m very passionate about the subject matter and really enjoy working with students with the ultimate goal of helping them gain mastery of what at first seems to be a very complex subject. My experience with teaching organic chemistry started as an undergraduate at Michigan State University where I tutored students (mainly sophomores, juniors and seniors) in the natural sciences by solving Organic chemistry problems during recitation hours. Furthermore, I also designed assignments and study guides to aid students in their understanding of organic chemistry but most importantly help them succeed and perform well in their exams. I am very patient and my style of teaching provides students with all the necessary skill-set needed for understanding the core fundamental concepts in Organic chemistry which I strongly believe will help students succeed and gain an appreciation for organic chemistry.
