SUMMER SALE: Since I am new to the TutorOcean platform and do not yet have any reviews on this site, I am running a great sale this summer: All lessons are only $15/hr. I have degrees in Mathematics (B.S. Cum Laude) and Physics (B.A. Cum Laude) and I have been tutoring college level and high school math subjects since 2006. I currently tutor all levels of Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus (high school; I and II; AP AB, and AP BC), Multivariable Calculus (i.e. Calculus 3), and Linear Algebra. I also occasionally tutor Ordinary Differential Equations, Probability, and Statistics. I received the Outstanding Service Award as Supplemental Instructor at the University of North Texas in 2007 and I won the military's "Who's your Favorite Tutor" contest in 2013 with another tutoring service. I know all the ins and outs of math problems. I love working with people and knowing that I've helped someone achieve real understanding of a subject. Oftentimes, students might struggle with an entire subject because they are missing prerequisite information on only a handful of topics, or even on only one concept; I can help you identity what's causing the problem and how to achieve mastery of that topic as easily and as efficiently as possible. I'll break down any math topic, problem, or solution method into its component parts, explain and describe how each part works, and help you work through examples and guide you step-by-step through the concepts and processes so that at the end of the lesson, you not only have the work completed, but have a solid understanding of the concepts and how to solve problems of this type in the future. I tutor exclusively online, and my schedule varies from week to week, but I am typically available most weeks M - Sa. My name is Lucila Takor, and I’m a Math, Algebra and Chemistry tutor with 4+ years of experience. My goal as a tutor is to help my students get to their desired grade, score or level in math. A lot of my students study for exams (like SAT, GCSE, PSAT, AP courses), I teach a lot of secondary/middle school/high school Math. I also teach IB as it has a slightly different way of dealing with things. I teach beginners or graders (grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10...). I make sure I take my time to explain every step because this is where the foundation of math is laid and if it’s built wrongly that won’t be good as they go forward. I’m a native English speaker, but I do know some basics in French. Some of my students that find it a bit difficult to get fluent in English want me teaching in English so that they get to learn both English and Math or Algebra at the same time. For a point to note, I DON’T WRITE ONLINE EXAMS FOR STUDENTS. I help students to prepare for exams, and I make sure they get the most out of it, and my goal is to prepare them at point of 100/100 then the rest is left for them in the exam hall or maybe exam session. I teach some more courses like; English: If you need someone to talk to, in order to improve your grammar, I'm here for you Chemistry: Here I teach the beginners and the intermediate level, especially general chemistry, organic chem and IB chem.
