I have been instructing for years and I enjoy teaching everything from martial arts to calculus. I am happy to help you through any elementary, middle, or high school course. I have read and studied textbooks that are horrible at explaining things. I had to work hard to learn a lot of lessons. But now, you can reap the benefits of my experience by being my tutee! I am different than other tutors (or textbooks for that matter) because of my teaching method. I break concepts down in a way that are understandable and repeatable. Here's the process: 1. I explain what we're doing. This sounds simple, but textbooks and tutors alike forget to leave it out. If we are studying Pythagorean Theorem, I will start out by stating what we are doing clearly and concisely. 2. I demonstrate what we're doing. To continue with the Pythagorean Theorem example, I would present a problem where this concept should be used, and I will complete the problem in full so you, the student, can see the full answer. 3. We will do problems together. Depending on the complexity and length of the problems in question, we will do singular or multiple questions at a high-, mid-, and low-level of explanation for each. 4. You will repeat a few of the questions that use the particular concept we are studying. I will be there to help you along if you get stuck. 5. Of course you will be asking questions along the way, but now, at the end, you can ask any final ones.

I'm currently pursuing my graduate degree in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry from the University of Toronto. I completed my Bachelors of Technology in Chemical Engineering from VIT University, India. Throughout my undergrad, I have been a core and later on a board member of AIChE, during which I have participated in quite a few K-12 events that involved going to schools around my university and teaching STEM subjects to the students there. Though, I have a number of favorite subjects, Maths, English, Physics and History are among the ones I feel most confident about mainly because these have been favorites since school. I believe that when it comes to grasping difficult concepts notably in physics and mathematics, there are multiple ways to make it look elementary, then the learning process becomes much easier and faster. In my opinion, with the world advancing at a rapid rate, the importance of education is clearly very evident and so is the act of gaining and imparting knowledge as it allows us to comprehend and question all that is happening around us. I try to utilize my free time by watching anime, reading some fiction and listening to true crime podcasts.

Having successfully cracked competitive and entrance exams, i can empathize with the struggles and pressure one faces in his/her studies, especially during preparation for competitive entrance exams. During my own preparation, graduation (from IIT Kharagpur in Electrical Department), working in corporate world and teaching wide ranges of students, I have learnt lot of techniques which can ease your preparation and make it very organised. I can teach Maths for grade 6 to 12 and train them for competitive exams like IIT JEE (Mains and Advanced), SAT, Olympiads, BITSAT and other Engineering Entrance exams. I can teach A-level and AP Maths also. The teaching process I follow is: 1) Explain why we are learning a concept and teach it with practical and relevant examples which helps them to learn the main funda of the subject and not just cram formulas. 2) Application of the concept to solve questions (including some previous years board and JEE) 3) Give some questions and problems to the students to get familiar with the concept and application 4) Be available for helping them individually if they face problem anywhere 5) Encourage, inspire and support the students, whenever needed. Learning is fun and adventurous. Students are comfortable with me and see me as a good friend, subject expert and guide than a strict teacher.
