Hello! I am a fourth year undergraduate at the University of Oxford, where I am studying Classics. In the Autumn, I will embark upon a postgraduate qualification in Philosophy. I am enthusiastic about the literature, history, languages and philosophy of the ancient world, and I share this enthusiasm with my students of all ages to help them fulfil their potential. I have been tutoring online for over 5 years, delivering hundreds of sessions in that time. I have prepared students for 13+ tests, GCSE , and A-level examinations with students going on to achieve excellent examinations results winning places at top secondary schools and universities. Looking for exam help? I have a strong track-record of helping my students to reach and exceed their academic aims, all in the friendly and encouraging session allowing students to experience both success and challenge. I tailor my sessions to individual students' needs, focussing on their problem areas and supporting their work at school. Looking for university preparation? At Oxford, I have been involved with the admissions procedures, advising students on their application materials, preparing them for interview, and revising for admissions tests. I know from experience that it is important to approach the admissions process as a whole, and I am able to offer support and guidance throughout this process as well as sessions on personal statements, aptitude tests (CAT, LAT or TSA) as well as interview preparation sessions.

It is my belief that something is not understood until it is fully and clearly explained. Every time I presented a lesson, I tried to present it in a way relatable to each individual student. My own understanding increased from helping to ease students of their confusions in Mathematical, Historical, or Scientific topics, to reading books and giving group lectures about them, my experiences as a tutor have increased my ability to explain and teach. Taking care of children has always been one of my major passions. Watching children grow, explore and learn has been a rewarding experience that excites me. Their imagination, innocence and creativity are highly enjoyable. Teaching them through art, reading, and outdoor observations offers them the knowledge that they may need in school and later life as they grow up. Every time I nurture a child's interests, I help him or her become a better, brighter individual who can become a successful adult. Patience. The most important criteria in being a tutor of any subject is patience. The students who I have taught have gotten at least one problem wrong in my sessions with them. I have never become upset with the student, since I am there to help them understand the lesson, not to encourage them to become more frustrated over not comprehending the content. I always just remain calm and never lose my temper. I give the student time to complete the problem and give him or her hints to help him or her remember a missing step.

After securing my M.Ed. in Secondary Education in 2011 and working as a math teacher and a substitute teacher, I ventured onto a different career path in 2015 when my tutoring work unexpectedly became my full-time job. During my time as a self-employed tutor, I have accumulated close to 20,000 hours with well over 1000 students while maintaining a five-star rating. My areas of expertise are math, test prep, and writing. Math may seem like some mysterious subject that only a few can comprehend, but that’s just not the case. I can help students unlock the mystery of mathematics and get them on the road to comprehension. In my time as a tutor and a teacher, I have instructed students at all stages of life and mathematical development—from third graders to adults in their 60's, from elementary math to college-level calculus. Test preparation is where most of my tutoring hours come from, as the years of prepping for tests can stretch well into a person’s adult years. Improving one's score not only means being familiar with the subject material, but also requires the right pacing, problem-solving strategies, and test-taking skills. In over a decade as a professional tutor, I have helped more than 800 students prepare for the SAT, ACT, ASVAB, GED, and GRE. Writing is another area where I can provide assistance. For students working on their college essays, I can offer guidance on selecting a prompt, constructing a response, and editing the final draft. If you’re writing a paper, I can walk you through the entire process, from brainstorming to constructing a thesis to finding and citing references to editing. I’ll help you understand the rules of grammar, punctuation, and format, and I'm familiar with the MLA, APA, and Chicago schools of style.
