Aspiring Teacher with Several Years of Tutoring Experience

Hello, my name is Bianca and I live in America but I travel to and from the United Kingdom frequently. I have just recently finished my Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Mathematics. I tutor as a way to serve my community and improve my teaching skills. I love tutoring because I can directly connect with students and leave life-long lasting impressions to better help them in the future. Tutoring is my hobby but teaching is my passion. Spanish with Portuguese University Student - 3 years tutoring experience

I am a student at the University of Exeter, currently living in Madrid, Spain, working as an intern for a Financial Technology company. I study Spanish with Portuguese at University. I have lots of experience tutoring Spanish up to A Level, as well as tutoring English Language to Spanish students. My tutoring sessions have a focus on being fun, but with the main objective of achieving the goals of the students. My passion for languages began when I was 13, when I first started learning Spanish. The prospect of speaking other languages, allowing me to travel to different countries and engage with the cultures there was something very inspiring for me. With my tutoring I look to pass this on to my students and help them find this passion as well. Something that I found challenging when learning the language was to find motivation, therefore I ensure to instill confidence in my students by speaking in Spanish, demonstrating that their level of language is usually better than they may think it is, motivating them to keep putting the work in to get to the level that they want to get to. With my tutoring sessions, I also provide University application advice for A Level students where I can, as well as tutoring for the culture side of their studies, not solely on the language side. Here is some information about me so that you can decide if I am the right person to help: I am a graduate from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a degree in Foreign Language and International Trade. My love of language started in high school when I was an exchange student in Panama. I lived for six months with a local host family, I learned to speak Spanish and I adapted to the culture. This experience has made me a much more flexible person, better able to work and communicate with people from other cultures and backgrounds. Learning Spanish has also made me much better at understanding my own native language. While in university I taught Spanish and Latin Dance through the continuing education program at John A. Logan College. Since graduating I have lived in Colombia, South America.
