I particularly try to focus on the underlying concepts & provide the student with context as to how each concept matters. Far too often, students are told to do things a certain way, but they are not told why nor even how it pertains overall. I have a BS in Mathematics from Stockton University. During college, I developed study groups in Partial Diff Eq, Engineering Graphics, & Adv Discrete Math. I was also Treasurer of Stockton's Math Club, which focused primarily on assisting local students & hosted an annual Math Mayhem competition between 12 N.J. High Schools.

My name is Sera and I am a pre-medicine student and biochemistry major at New York University. I am also in the top 10% of my incoming class at NYU College of Arts and Sciences. I have been tutoring in math and english since I was a sophomore in high school. I spent a year as a math instructor at Mathnasium of Plainsboro, a center that is part of a franchise that consists of more than 700 centers that give math instruction for kids in K-12. Throughout my time at Mathnasium, I have tutored students in first to eleventh grades in elementary and middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, trigonometry, and geometry. I am now a private tutor in Manhattan, and I tutor all K-12 math subjects, up to introductory college chemistry, and SAT/ACTs. I've scored a composite score of 35 out of 36 on the ACTs and have achieved a perfect score on both the English and Reading sections, while I scored 1 point away from a perfect in math. I have also taken and scored well on SAT subject tests including SAT Math 2, SAT Chemistry, and SAT Biology.
